Ok so.. I first bought Red Orchestra about 6 months ago and played it like mad for a good 4-5 months.. then took a break. I downloaded it again the other day via steam and now I cannot enter a lobby (or a practice mode, for that matter) without getting the following error.
' Build RedOrchestra_Build_[2005-11-27_10.48] OS: Windows NT 6.0 (Build: 6001) CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2600 MHz with 1790MB RAM Video: NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 620i (7540) Ran out of virtual memory. To prevent this condition, you must free up more space on your primary hard disk. History: FMallocWindows::Malloc <- FMallocWindows::Realloc <- 00000000 183910 FArray <- FArray::Realloc <- 183910*1 <- TArray<< <- TLazyArray::Load <- 0 <- FSoundData::Load <- USoundGroup::Load <- UGameEngine::LoadMap <- LocalMapURL <- UGameEngine::Browse <- ClientTravel <- UGameEngine::Tick <- Level Danzig [Gdansk] – 28th March 1945 <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Realloc <- 4C576C61 0 FArray <- FArray::Realloc <- 0*2 <- FMallocWindows::Free ' I have 69+ GB free on my HDD, 2 gig RAM and i'm running a Pentium Dual Core @ 2.60 GHZ. When I first had the game it ran flawlessly.. I don't think it's anything to do with my system as counter strike source is running very smoothly as always.. I'm not sure if RO is more demanding in specs though, but just to be sure I tried running RO at low settings and still encountered the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help. |

set your initial and max virtual memory levels to 1.5x your overall system memory
if you don't know how, google it. it's easy to do. |

Here's a screenshot of my current memory settings.
![]() As you can see I've got it set so windows manages everything for me.. and it's currently allocating 4180MB of virtual memory, if i'm not mistaken. So surely that should be enough? EDIT: So just to be sure, I changed both the initial and maximum size to 5000 mb, and still received the error. Yet I played CSS minutes after and received no virtual memory error messages.. really don't understand this problem. Last edited by J.C; 03-20-2010 at 04:18 PM. |

monitor your memory usage with either task manager or procexp. it's possible you are just running too many memory consuming tasks.
