could be nice for a sandboxish mode for the realism units that prefer to run weird gametypes :P.

Yeah they can start playing early september. With an open window.
Then play on to february and not close the window for realism sake. Now and then mama can throw a piece of bread in the room to complete it with a Stalingrad Diet..... |

I always feel like the round is incomplete when the time runs out but there are still reinforcements. It would be nice if a map ended when, say, Allies captured all the points they were meant to (out of 3 rounds) or whatnot. On the other hand if the Axis are very good defenders then when does the round stop?
