The graphics look way dirtier and grittier than the previous shots. Very very nice!!

The map(s) also just look amazing. I'm reading this Stalingrad book by Antony Beevor and it looks a lot like the pictures in the book, not to mention the descriptions. Nearly identical really. I love that statue with the people holding hands, that's straight out of it I believe.

That was it..."Say what you like about Hitler but he was responsible for some awesome games."

Pretty much anything anyone says after an opening line like that is going to be fail.

This is completely random, but I was wondering, I remember watching some video of TWI doing a presentation. It was either the President or VP or somebody high up, he had long hair. Anyone know what it could have been?
That was me, and depending on the presentation it could be any number of things. It could have been the gamescom shakeycam vid that leaked of ROHOS?

Despite my appearance, I don't get drunk and high. And while I used to listen to Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer a lot (and played in my own metal band), I listen to more modern music these days. Lately I've really been into Demon Hunter, Diecast, Becoming the Archetype, Living Sacrifice, Sevendust, and As I Lay Dying to name a few

It's apparently one or the other but never both at the same time

Getting drunk and high will only increase the number of bugs in RO:HoS, so don't! =P

Luckily (or not), no-one filmed me at the Swedish thingie the year before John, when I (apparently - I think it is an Evil Lie) gave some DICE producer the finger. But he was being a tosser so, if I had done it, it would have been well-deserved.

And no, we don't all listen to sodding metal. Only when we can't get John to TURN IT DOWN DAMMIT.

One of the worst video game reviews ever.

But that is a decent amount of sales.

The text review opens on a more diplomatic note:

Quote:
Dissing Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 for not being what we like in a game is like kicking the crap out of some kid’s sand castle at the beach. He worked really hard at it, so what kind of angry pathetic critic would take it upon himself to destroy it?

Let’s be honest, Red Orchestra just isn’t our particular cup of tea. Hard core realism is something to be admired, but not necessarily enjoyed. We could take the time to understand the complex bullet physics in the game, or perhaps pick up some books on early 20th century Russian combines to learn how many rounds their clips hold, but we would rather just shoot people in the face. Really.
But really, Xplay is not the place to go for intelligent discourse. The problem is that rather than approach the game for what it is, a niche title, they just stand back from the position of their key demographic and take pot shots at it.
