Default Sharing Ammunition

Sorry if this has been suggested before.

Back in the RO mod and Beginning of RO:Ost, the ammo pouches did not exist, instead you dropped all of your clips/mags.

This solved the problem of having to pick up all your ammo if your weapon was shot out of you hands, and decreased time to move on if you found another weapon you wanted.

However this also got rid of a "Tactic" that I used for quite a while. I used to be able to drop my gun and nearby team mates who were low on ammo could pick up some ammunition. With the ammo pouch system, this tactic is no longer efficient.(You can "Share" the ammo pouch taking turns reloading but the result is just not the same.)

Perhaps in Red Orchestra: HOS there can be a system to share ammo/drop individual clips and magazines to team mates.

It would be nice to see. Perhaps have a "drop mag/clip" feature, where it dropped one mag, clip, rocket, shell, ect. of the weapon you currently have equipped.

For example, if you have an MP40 equipped, you drop a MP40 mag.

But, IMO it is not that important. I don't think there are many times where players actually run out of ammo.

I think the best solution to that would not be dropping seperate ammo. But allowing you to use the give ammo to mg's button to people of the same class as well. Giving him a clip of yours.

That button only works currently with the MG anyway, so it could be used for giving someone else some ammo as well.

Default like it

yes i would really like if riflemen could give me some ammo, they never use all their ammo anyway. also less ammo for enems to scavenge.

but you only give one clip/mag at a time some you have to press the resupply button multiple times to give more clips/mags.

you really use up your ammo when you use the stg44. but i never use semi fire mode

I agree with Zetsumei, sounds like the best way to share ammo

i loved that in the mod days. i absolutley want something like this (maybe even in an update to RO:Ostf).
i wouldnt mind if it was implented less clumsy than in the mod days, but at the same time i loved seeing all these little stripper clips on the ground...

The issue with all those stripper clips on the the ground was, that when a weapon was shout out of your hand magically all your ammo was laying on the ground with you.

Default back to the mod days

I loved the system back in the mod days. I remember playing on "Jucha" with rifle and killed the enemy sniper. So quickly switched weapons and searched for any clip I find for the russian sniper ammo. As it is time consuming, it was always a gamble: Should I search for the remaining 5 clips or go ahead with what I found so far?
Loved that!
However, I think the current system might be more realistic because when you get shot, not necessarily, every clip is leaving your pocket, does it?

Yeah. That was one frustrating feature.

I just found that to be very involuntary comedy. You got killed/incapasitated or got the weapon shot out of you hands, you would magically burst stripper clips/magazines and grenades all over the place. Plus how frustrating it was to try to pick them up. And it also felt so unrealistic.

I would love, if there would be a "search the body"-feature in RO:HoS, like many have already suggested. The current system in RO:OST feels still very gamey. The "search the body"-system should take some time, since scavenging enemy pockets in the middle of the battle should be a risky thing to do, riskier than now. Removing ammo pouches from body or taking ammo out from the pouches of a body is not that fast thing to do.

I take that you were joking here?

I remember the Heat of Battle Mod (HoB) for COD and COD:UO had a search the body feature. There was no telling what you would find sometimes. "You found a prohylactic." "You found some dirty underwear." "You found some ammo."......can't recall everything, but it was funny for the first few times. Then it got old....

people don't suggest something like that. They mean actually taking the ammo from ones cold dead body. Rather than it falling on the ground

I know that
But you had to search the body to get the ammo, grenades, medkits, etc. Sometimes you'd find more than you bargained for
