Default 'Stick together team'

Did you know that on some servers when playing on difficult mode, 'Stick together Team' actually means' 'Everyone run off in different directions leaving me to die at the hands, teeth, nails, vommit and blades of the bulk hord of zombies' and the rest of the team wiped out.

Did you know that on some servers when playing on easy mode, 'Stick together team' actually means, 'everyone gather around me and shoot the zombies I'm trying to hack up with my katana before I can get to them'.

Being the grumpy old bastard that I am, this is only one of the many small things that annoys me

I was on a Normal server with some utter noobs the other day. When I say "noob" I mean one guy mentioned it was his first map ever and everyone had to be told what the push-to-talk key was.

Then...they kicked ***.

All were so new to the game that they blindly followed directions to the best of their abilities (they didn't know what else to do). They also *communicated*, asked questions, asked for help when needed, and offered help to others when they could. The result was a bunch of 0-level chars clearing 10 waves and killing the patriarch with few if any deaths.

I would play with those guys again in a heartbeat. Twas a blast.

I've also seen a stack of level 4-5 guys who rocked as individuals but couldn't get past wave 6/10 without wiping.

thats pretty much me, no one sticks together so im forced to take them on my own....which fails at around wave 6 or 7

but whenever i do find a good team of pub players, we do very well

Joining a clan that actually has some base (most do, but especially look for ones with hosted servers) or playing with friends is usually a good solution to this problem. Even if you have a couple of people who will be willing to work with you, it is better.

Given my experience on public servers, some people mistake teamwork for telling people what to do, rather try to be courteous and agreeing on an area to go to or a strategy to use. If no one responds then try sticking with at least one other person. Most people are agreeable enough to take and give suggestions without rage.

Agreed this is usually all you need on anything less than suicidal. One person watching you're back and you're good as long as one of you is a sharpshooter or berserker (for scrakes) and you decap the FPs instead of trying to nuke them.

Funny... This is actually true. First timers seems to be better than the "lvl5-pro-uber-pwnzors". These "noobs" communicates and sticks together, while lvl5 thinks he's so cool and pro he rushes alone and fails at wave 6 or somewhere around that.

I have a feeling the "I'm Level 5 I am god who needs no help" attitude will only get worse with the perk level caps getting higher with the next patch coming.

Scenario: I'm a level 6 Zerker/Support, therefor I am Rambo, or the Terminator. Solo is my primary function, wiping at wave 6/7 is my cause.

I typically have better luck with one person than with the whole enemy-attracting, prone-to-stupidity team. I intentionally AVOID the team because of all the hassle they cause unless I see a need for their help (FPs, usually).

Myself and a single, skilled fire-team member can usually clear the specimens with easy, healing each other when needed, without blocking each others' shots and whatnot...

The best perk for you to choose as a partner role as a DPS/renaissance man is either Commando or Berserker both with 'pup for FPs (decap) and katana for Scrakes (either perk with this loadout).

Berserker can tank and deal with larger weapons. Commando can take care of smaller specs and at range.

The other perk depends on the perk you choose.

I usually pick Commando with pup and katana (only those so that I still have speed and can still loadout with these on harder difficulties). Since you can deal with almost any enemy you can stick with anyone with good DPS. Bersker with this loadout wants to stick with someone with range and DPS, SS seems to be a good choice, but Commando or Firebug work well too.

Playing with friends or a clan is the way to go but something else that helps:

Play in the middle of the night. Seriously like deep deep 2-4am stuff. You'll find a better class of player on the public servers.

I'm not sure if it's because the kids are in bed or only zealots play all night or what but it's been my repeated experience that 3am games are likely to be teamwork games.

I could not agree with smilin more.
Login to KF at 3am, just so much of a better crowd, hardcore - but chill at the same time......

Have to agree.. Late at night or early in the morning deffers offers better games...
Was on a Normal server last night and it was so refreshing as every time I'd run up to a specimen to hack it apart with my katana the team would stop firing at it.. Now that's how it's done.
Usually while hacking away at specimens other players would unload magazines of rounds into both me and the specimens and I wouldn't know if I was being attacked by a specimen or other players...Just another one of my pet hates

I've noticed this as well. That said, at any time throughout the day most Killing Floor players display better teamwork than in the vast majority of other games.

Why not making a gamer community for those who REALLY wants to play as a team. Therefore we just need to make a group at xfire or/and steam. And the leader would make every weekend one or more events where we all can play together as a TEAM.

only problem is... saying 'stick together team' means 'hide in a corner where the zombies wont spawn' (in a group). Happens on every map. I think there needs to be more zombie spawn-points (the ones you cant block, like the desks that zombies climb over from a spawn point) to prevent this and to make people move around a bit more. No I do not hate team work, I just hate doing wave after wave in the EXACT same spot. Mmmk? Team-work on the run

YouTube - Defending Decontamination

May as well sit in a room with both doors welded and shoot though the fences, and itd be same thing.

edit- Uhh, I put in a youtube link and for some reason it embedded in the post ??

As some people have already said, Killing Floor has a great community. Lots of people willing to share money for one thing.

That said. I do notice alot of people going Rambo and pretty much destroying the team. and Not to discriminate but most 'Rambos' I've seen usually play in the afternoon to early evenings and use the Beserker perk. The problem is that the 'Rambo' tends to be the last one to die when a team wipes due to him not being in the set-up defences. Thus he feels it was the other players fault for the loss and not his own.

The solution? Find Friends. I've got 3 really good friends I've met in other games. With them I can usally do much better then with regular pub players.

I rarely team up with players anymore unless ive seen them before and have a track record of how they fight. It's just way too much hassle. Either they are slow at reacting or they really secretly want you to die.

I usually get back at the by clearing the floor and holding onto vital cash that they need to purchase their ammunition and weapons.

You, your part of the problem. Stop that.

They should make that a radio command.
'wait for me' or 'follow me' does not quite get the job done imo.
