When using the crossbow, i'd recommend to always set "scope detail" to Textured.
On the highest settings, using the crossbow scope would decrease my fps from 50 to 20. Also, it will stop the moving of the scope while walking which allows you to aim better (although you may prefer the more "realistic" way). |

I just tried this and I love using the textured scope way better. Killing while moving was kind of hard before, but now it is cake. So if I am forced to retreat I can still fire off a few bolts before knife running away.

I stick with the 'Model - Low' option. It still has a good zoom-in area, but allows me to keep un-zoomed vision to avoid getting the usual 'Tunnel Vision' that tends to get an aiming sniper killed...

The sway of the model scope is purely cosmetic too, if I am not mistaken. Same with the Bullpup. It looks like it's swaying around like crazy, but you are still aiming at the middle of the screen.
With the crossbow I use the low scope detail, mostly because of the framerate but also because it looks a heck of a lot cooler than textured and you can see much more around it than the high detail one. In RO I use the high detail one because of the higher magnification. Not really needed in Killing Floor. |
