Default Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

When I try to start Killing Floor through steam I get the splash screen for a few seconds and then this error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: ...am\steamapps\common\killingfloor\System\Killing Floor.exe

R6025
-pure virtual function call

AMD 6000+ X2
ATI 4870
4 GB RAM
WINXP SP3 32bit
Asus M2N-SLI Delux Motherboard

EDIT:

I put the .exe into Compatibility mode: Win98/ME

That seems to have fixed the problem.

I would assume this is an error in the files. Please try clicking "Verify Game Cache" in Steam and/or deleting the whole /Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/killingfloor folder and letting Steam reinstall the game.

I verified the files, and then I deleted all local content and reinstalled the game. Neither of these fixed the problem.

I remember this one.

Anyone with this issue, make sure msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll are in your C:\Windows\System32 folder(alternatively, they can just be placed in the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Killingfloor\System folder).

Download for MSVCP71.dll
Download for MSVCR71.dll

I think this should resolve the problem. Let me know how you get on.
