Sounds from other games?

Am I allowed to take sounds from other games and place them into my map? As this is not for commerical use, is this still allowed?

It really depends on "others" game you mean. If it's free-game (mod), I'd go to their forums and ask permission to use sound, of course with explaining.

If it non-free game (Red Orchestra, HL2, Fallout3 etc...) I'd give up. Cause I don't think devs would bother with you. However, maybe you can find some agreement, that allows you to use their sounds. Good Luck.


Speaking of Red Orchestra, it's done by very very TRIPWIRE INTERACTIVE and their devs are pretty active on this forums :P
