Fileden and redirection

In the FAQ you recommend testing redirection with fileden but for the life of me I cannot get it to work.

From what I've seen with redirection it needs to be HTTP not FTP and I can't figure out what the link is I need to put in my config, www.fileden..../my%20documents/maps/ doesn't provide a valid link so I'm clueless.


Any help would be appreciated before I decide to venture further with the server :-/

login to your fileden accout. Click on files. Select one of your maps and right click with a mouse button. Select properties and select url. This will the http address you use. As an example your redirection would be http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/5/30/2460375/

Set dont allow downloads in you killingfloor ini file. And if you are going to compress your maps to uz2 format than make sure you set compression=true in your killingfloor ini file.

Hmm, I can download the maps directly from a link, but if I try and join the the server the map size is 2K and it goes up to the thousands in %.
And yes I do have a / at the end of the url, and it doesn't work without it either. It shows the actual size for a second and then changes to 2k.

Any ideas :-S

Show us exactly what you're adding as your redirect URL. Send a PM in you want to keep it private.

I don't think fileden works anymore. Don't think they allow linking to folders anymore.

I didn't think that would matter, as all it does is add the map name to the end of the specified redirect url, doesn't need access to the folder.

I sent you a PM. Place your map in your main Fileden directory without any subfolders and attempt to link from there.
