Default Hunting Shotgun Ammo Ridiculously Expensive

Hello all,

As a dedicated MG in RO, I like the Support class best in KF. I'm now a level 3 Support(on the edge of 4 though). I like being able to take both Shotgun and Hunting Shotgun at the same time as the sheer firepower can save my group in hairy situations.

What I have a problem with is, the price of the HS ammo. They cost 25£ for 2 rounds. It takes ~750£ to fully load an empty rifle. Whereas I can get a new Hunting Rifle with 44(or maybe 46) rounds just for 449£.

So it makes so much sense to sell my old HR for 399£ and buy a new one, and spend the 50£ difference on two more rounds rather than spending whole 750£ to fully load the shotty.

Maybe devs can lower the price a bit, or at least give some price reduction for Support class so it costs less to buy full ammo than the rifle.

It's the same way with the Crossbow, it's ammo costing $15 a bolt! More than 6 shots ($90) being refilled means it's cheaper to sell the Crossbow for $300 and buy a new, fully-filled one for $400 for a net cost of only $100!

I can understand trying to make the ammo 'expensive' for these weapons, especially the Hunting Shotgun, but when you can so easily sell and rebuy a full weapon for cheaper than an ammo refill, there's a problem...

Easy fix is to make 'em only have a tiny bit of ammo when bought, requiring the player to then either buy ammo or find ammo boxes...

Because you can only pick up the bolts you missed with! If you hit a specimen with one it's gone. If you think this is a feasible alternative you must be a horrible shot. :P
Just pulling your leg... Kinda.

Make specialty weapons start with 50% ammo just like every other gun in the game. Problem solved.

I hope you guys know grenades cost $40 per nade.. if not more..
so.. if your support and need nades, that alone is about $400..

My Point:
Don't waste your nades unless you're dying..

Ammo is about $2-$20 per bullet, depending on the weapon

On the contrary, I'm pretty sure you can pick up the bolt as long as it hit the floor after going through an enemy. At least, this is what seemed to happen earlier.

Amazing how a full refill of crossbow bolts costs £600 whereas the crossbow with full ammo is only £400. A slight oversight I'm sure.

And what's up with you guys describing prices in dollars? Does your version do this?

Yeah, keep an eye out and make sure you aren't shelling cash for grenades when you're hitting auto fill.

But I agree, ammo should cost less to fill than the entire weapon.

For the time being, just pretend people raided the trader for ammo and now popular cartridges are becoming scarce. Just like how it is now!

I tried it yesterday and it works wonders. A nice way to fill up your HS for nearly nothing

It's no problem, it's just funny when you guys use the symbol for a currency that is worth practically nothing.

And me, national feelings? No way!

I agree that selling then rebuying a weapon should not be cheaper than just filling it up. It just doesn't make any sense.

I don't care how it's fixed, but it does need to be fixed.

This is just a mistake on devs' part, it happens constantly in new games and should definetely be fixed.

It isn't "smart" to realise that selling a weapon and buying new one instead of refilling ammo is more profitable, it's just a nuisance and doesn't make any sense

It is similar to the exploit when people used to keep changing perks and buying/selling weapons to gain profit (selling a weapon gave more money than buying it), until '1 perk change per wave' was implemented.

I dont think it cost too much, since on the first waves you dont use all your ammo.
And when you use them all , its on the final waves where you gain 1000 per round.

What they should do is vary the price proportionally to the number of specimen, player.
