When somebody downloads a custom map, where does KF place the file? I've checked killingfloor\Maps, and even did a search of my entire computer, and I can't seem to find the KF-MapName.rom anywhere.

Check your Cache folder:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor\Cache (for XP) It's in there but will not be recognisable immediately as it's name has been changed to the number/letter text. Look in the cache.ini to find out which one relates to the map you downloaded. Simply change the name to its <mapname>.rom |

The redirect works the same as it did in UT2004
All you need is a webserver on the web to host the files. Note you will need to compress your maps with the uz2 compressor. (Elmurte's tinyuz2 works, you need to comment out the file check in the source code to get it to work. you can also compress them using ucc.exe on windows) |
