Game Won't Respond on Laptop

I'm trying to get this to run on:

Sony VGN-AR870
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
3 G RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, 185.68 drivers

When I start it up, the game sometimes gets to the menu, sometimes not, but after it gets to the menu, it freezes. I've tried fullscreen and windowed mode.

Forgot to mention, running Vista 32-bit.
