Default General protection fault

Ok , i been playing the game since it came out with no problem! then it crash's saying

Build KillingFloor_Build_[2009-02-09_10.82]

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 2212 MHz with 1023MB RAM
Video: No Video

General protection fault!

History: UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Free

Now it does this everytime i startup

I also got this once trying to start it up too (attatchment)

Have you attempted doing a complete uninstall (including clearing the folder manual in Steam) and then reinstalling?

Edit: You can also try the fix suggested in this thread.

If i do that will i loose my perks etc? acheivements...

And yes i tryed using the second one, didnt work

Nope, perks and achievements are linked to your steam account.

100% sure about achievements, 99.99% sure on perks. I saw someone else post that it was (and my friend also reinstalled) but if you want to be 100% sure, wait for someone else to confirm it as well.

Ok man ill give it a try reinstalling, should i just try deleting the ini file first?

Worth a try, that _definitely_ won't remove any perks/achievements
