Default Can't play Multiplayer OR Solo mode...help

I've been waiting for this game alllll day. I stuck through the long delays and then when it game out i tried to play it.

Me and my friends took awhile to figure out how to host, unfortunately I can't play.

Each time I join a server it'll get as far to the loading screen with the monster on it and the map in the top right where it says killing floor on the bottom. This is as far as it goes. I never connect, or anything. It must be freezing and I don't know what to do. The same thing happens for Solo mode.

you know, the loading times are extremely long for some people.
i think that's what you meant. you get to the loading screen and it just stops? It might just appear that way when it's really still loading.
Sometimes my game takes around 5 minutes just to get in-game. It's really frustrating.

you may need to port forward.

if your having trouble as to what/where you have to place it check out portforward.com it has a list for each router.

once i did this loading was quicker. however i (and i think everyone else has this problem) cannot get into a game with 5/6 or with 0/6 i am not sure it distinguishes from turned off servers to online servers

Defrag your harddisc, and follow this guide:

Its for ro but the same thing applies for KF

Usually you forward ports for hosting, but I guess I'll give it a try and I don't see the point in defragging, I play lots of source games that load fine and defragging will probably take forever. I run Counter strike source, garrys mod, zombie panic source, and dystopia all fine.

I'll get back to this after I port forward.

Alright, I waited almost 20 Minutes or just about 20 minutes and it finished loading. I doubt this was port forwarding, I probably just didn't wait long enough. This is terrible, 20 minutes loading time for solo? No one is going to wait that long for someone to join the game. and after all that it was laggy in game only with 3 specimens on the screen. I can run counter strike source, garrys mod, half life 2, dystopia, and zombie panic source, why would this game be laggy? I meet all the minimum requirements and some recommended.

Also there's another problem that I just caught.
All player models look, I don't really know how to put this but I guess unskinned for me. The specimens also look like this in the screenshot i took here:http://i39.tinypic.com/2j2fi48.jpg
The only things that look fine as far as players go is the player under the selected model in the screenshot is skinned, and the player to the right of this one selected, his face is skinned, but not his body.

The loading time seems to have fixed significantly, but still theres the problem of the player models, and the specimens not loading the skin, they're just white, except for the character on the bottom left when you are selecting a player model. Any fixes?

Try going into the steam properties for killing floor and under local files click on the verify integrity of game cache. Once it is finished verifying it will likely download some more files, and after you download those files it should work.
