Default Korea Please!

It would sure be a nice change of pace to have a game/mod that focuses on the Korean war. i mean its practically untouched and, if done well, would be tremendous. i was actually hoping that RO2 would be a Korean war game.
What does everyone think?

Start modding then.
Once you have enough to show others might join your quest. I'm sure many would appreciate such a mod.

hey sidus go look up some tutorials. everyone started out not having a clue. I think a Korean war mod would be fantastic. i've never heard much of the Korean war, this could be educational and fun to play.

If you can run RO:O you can easily run programs like Maya and make models for players, weapons, vehicles and props. You could also make sounds, textures, map-layouts, concept art, etc. pp. There is so much you need for a mod that there is bound to be something you can do and have fun doing.

If you are genuinely interested in the war and you know a lot about it, that knowledge is worth a whole lot as well, if you can translate it into the game somehow. E.g. think of gameplay mechanics that would capture the style of warfare; think of objectives and mission lay-outs that resemble interesting battles; etc.

I think they're a little too far ahead in development to completely scrap their content and research and start fresh in portraying a different conflict.

That's an interesting theory you have there, I'll ponder over it.

Korea would be nice, but I would prefer Vietnam. For one, for the most part, most of the weapons used by the Koreans were Soviet WWII weapons.

Vietnam adds a few more completely new weapons, like the AKM, PKM, SVD, K-50 and MAT-49.

And yes, I know that half of the weapons the Vietnamese used were WWII Soviet weapons to.

But the change of pace with more modern weapons (such as more people being issued with assault rifles) would be a bigger change in gameplay compared to WWII. This is the main reason why I would prefer it over Korea.

The good thing about either time period is the mod can use some of the weapons (DP-28, PPSH-41 ect.) straight from RO2.

I'm fully up for it if I have time in the near future. I'm hella interested in the Korean war. Shouldn't be too hard to mod as well as they basically used Russian and U.S weapons from WW2. So get ready to see the taegukgi flapping in a battlefeild in the near future. I'm also considering a mod for the pacific theater too! 大和魂!!! So I'd work on them both at the same time.. but for now I'm really busy, but hopefully around the release of HOS I'll have more free time...
Yamato damashii!!!

Default Korea would be awsome

It would be combining Darkest Hour's American weapons and vehicles against Russian RO weapons and vehicles. Then mod the uniforms on the Korean side and bingo, an epic clash. That would be a great game!!!
