Default Rolling

We can vault over objects it could be nice when prone, that we could roll to the side into cover.

yeah that would be awesome. I don't remember which games used such a rolling system but I always enjoyed it a lot

Arma/ofp replaces lean when prone with rolling.

It can be very useful, even with armas horrible movment system, but I'd like to see another solution, as leaning while prone is also useful.

On the subject of arma, one thing I'd really like to see is double tapping q/e to toggle lean.

H&D2 and Armed Assault have prone-rolling, H&D1 had rolling from a crouched position. Both useful.
But as Pharnakes says, it shouldnt replace proned leaning as we have now, maybe you could hold down the sprint button to do a quick roll to the sides? As it is essentially a quicker movement then just crawling sideways, it could be seen as the sprint version of this
So:
Regular Q&E while prone = leaning.
Q&E + Shift = rolling.

This would be awesome, and I imagine, not hard to make at all. I guess the real question would be whether it works and flows well in-game, and only the devs and their testers will know that (if they try it, which would be a dumb thing not to do really given they have the resources).

thought about doubleklickin lean but the "sprint+lean(while prone)=roll" is better.. but there should be a limit of rolles you can perform maybe max 2 rolls to the right, 2 rolls to the left, from center... otherwise there would be people sidewinder-snake-rolling though the hole map...

if your screen shakes like hell and you're unable to shoot while and short after rolling you will prevent people from rolling over the whole map.

example: current Odessa, Axies, HQ defence, some axies is on the platform you spot him up there, he goes prone sidewindes to the other corner of the platfrom pops up shoots you...

example: current Stalingrad, assamblyhall, you as russain in the room with the 2 big boxes, axie is in the corridors, you spot eachother though the windows, you toss a nade at him, he goes prone and sidewindes to another corner of the corridors pops up kills you ...

it might shock you but there are peolple out there, than just wait for such exploits to use it to death...

dont underestimate imaginativeness of players...

As an added suggestion we could have 2 speeds of crawling as well.
The first speed is as low to the ground as possible and slow, just like the crawl we have now.
The second crawl would be on hands and knees, so a little higher up, presenting a bigger target, but you move faster.

A thread for your pipe dreams?

These functions are too comlpex and redundant for a game like Red Orchestra. Tripwire are not going to include this for many of the reasons stated above and for the principal reason that this is not a priority.

Some corrections must be made for prone stance: restrict player movement when reloading and restrict player movement when aiming.

Place the first-person camera in the head of the character this time and not the chest, even if it means that during sprinting or jogging the weapon will not be visible. This only has the added benefit of not obstructing the FOV.

Are you serious or trolling?

Hvae you ever even played a game that has functions like this already?

I take it no, as all you seem to play is the all great BF:BC, otherwise you would realise how useful these are.

And if other companies have managed to add such features, I am sure TWI can.
