I think 36-40 players is a good count.

DM's and Scoreboard on.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of Leningrad just because it gives me really bad frame rates. I usually disconnect whenever it comes up.

Maps I do not ever want to play again: Bondarevo + Arad + Zhitomir

Maps I will always play: Odessa + Basovka + Krasnyi + Hedgheog (dunno why exactly I just like the map as a German)

Epic maps that require teamwork to be fun: Paiserplatz + Berezina + Elnya + Tracktor Works + Gorlitz + Kryukovko, and soon Kriegstadt.

Although not of that epic nature, Lazur is also best played with a group of regulars.

Those maps are all amazing but to play them you really want server regulars that have mics. Otherwise you feel very isolated and generally bored.

Also there a lot of custom maps that aren't being played,
One that I would really love to play with a full set of guys is Myahsdawgfrau River (I don't remember the first name, but it seems like a cool map). It's FPH's latest map and it's combined arms.

And I like Koitos...

You don't really want AB installed unless you are playing REAL tank maps, such as Orel, or Debrechen, maybe even BDJ.
I've noticed that tank maps can be server killers at times. Usually when BDJ pops up on Splat everyone vacates (sorry Moz! I stay there for a few minutes with 10 people)

I think a tank night would be cool.

Have all the stock maps (and the most recent Enemy at the Gates) running with voting enabled and a space of 3 maps before a given map can be re-played.
I'd like the blackscreen and AB mutators. I consider AB a must, since I haven't found many low-ping servers (for me) running it, but I've loved it. Having an all-bolt night with a more restricted map set would be good.
The server would also be best if it could accommodate 44-50 players, no fewer. Which country will it be in?

The problem with tank maps isn't only that they are unpopular for some people that don't like fighting in tanks, but most of them also give people with slower pcs horrible framerates (because they are wider) so even if they would like to tank a bit they can't.

The longer visibility for the names sounds reasonable and fun.

@Jokerman: I know.

when you join a server that plays one of those maps, you will notice that most of the players there are different from the average player you will find on a arad or danzig 24/7 server.
i think people that are not interested in teamwork just don't like those maps, so the quality of the gameplay improves when such a map comes up, cause it seems to drain bad players away. and draw good players in.

even though i prefer DM off, its best to keep them on to not scare potential regulars away.

and avoid any tank maps, i like both types of maps. but if i want a good tanking match, i will join a armor server with regulars that know how to tank.
otherwise when a tankmap shows up on an infantry server, the experience is rather average.

im not sure about theme days, with tankmaps or bolts only etc... if i will look for a server where i want to become regular, i need a stable server on wich i can always thrust to offer me good games at any time i join. without bad surprises, otherwise i won't remember that servers name and just move on.

Personally , i like more or less all maps (infantry and tanks ) except :

Kryukovo (the presence of tanks run the interest and gameplay of this map IMO , the map would be great without tanks , cause they are too decisive in this map )
Kaukasus (tired of it )
Basovka (same.. maybe if Axis had light tank support it would change the map 's interest or if Allies had less artillerie spamming )
Lyes Krovy (i don't like it , and i think the woods should be fully accessible)
and Barashka (never liked this map , it is well designed , but if i'm not in a tank , i get bored quickly on this map )

The maps i really like :

Tcherkassy , Berezina , Gorlitz , Bondarevo , Konigsplatz , Krasni Oktyabr , Leningrad , Ogledow , Zhitomir revenge , Pariserplatz , Rakowice , Danzig , Odessa , Hedgehog , and Tula outskirts (although there is a slight unbalance , perhaps i'm wrong , but 95% of the time i play it , Axis win , so maybe giving arty or an additional sniper to Allies would be good , cause it's a nice map )

I really like that you are asking for input. I think all should be combined arms or infantry maps. Dont include any map that already has a 24/7 server if I wanted to play those I would join that server. 44 minimum number of players especially if you are going to load the epic maps. Lower the grenade kill to kick ratio and lower teh arty kill to kick ratio way down you cant keep idiots from walking into it.

How about a 'new custom map night' to showcase a promising new custom map or a new version of an old one, or just a golden oldie that people who like to teamplay can come together every week and have a stress free evening of RO.

Great idea Coey. A Custom-map-night would indeed be interesting.
