Default People you want to rifle butt smack

I pretty much joined solely because of this, I was checking out some of the reviews for RO to see what people thought of it and came across this one by xplay.. they have a video (flash console) attached to it where the guy went through the game and made comments.

It was hilarious but at the same time made me want to punch him.. I pray that people like him don't direct the gaming industry and if they do.. that people like tripwire break off (or start up outside of) to make decent games (screw EA for trying to take over Ubisoft)

anyways if anyone wants a good laugh (i know I should have posted this in the reviews section but meh) here it is.. the written review is pretty bias

http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/reviews/11...ront_4145.html

On another note, if any of the RO staff read this please continue this on into the U3 engine.. RO is bloody amazing but I could see you doing better with a more able environment (which I assume the U3 engine would give). If anyone likes realism (or realism like) stragegy games you should check out faces of war.. sequal to soliders : heroes of world war two.

FPS's shouldn't be fragfests for twitchgamers! Can they get that into their heads?

Although I thought the review itself to be a bit one sided, it was really the obnoxious female co host and her demeanor that annoyed me most. I left a comment on their review page, voicing my opinions. Perhaps they just arent elightened, or perhaps they have just played to many cookie cutter FPS games that tout themselves as "origonal and realistic".

Im glad that a lot of average gamers have seen the light. The RO light.

I think most of the people on this forum are very familiar with that review. When it was first circulated around there was a big outrage. Basically all they did for that review was play a few practice games with the uber stupid bots so they could get video footage, then they took Tripwire's main selling points and turned them around to sound negative... they didn't even think about giving the game a chance.

I think Amerikaner wrote a letter to Xplay that was pretty funny, is that still around?

Those kind of reviews made me buy this game. I love it for the reasons they hate it.

RO its not designed to be realistic, its designed to be fun. The fact that realism = fun is just a coincidence. (it appeals to ppl who love online fps, but hate bunny jumping and crosshairs / random deviation.).

IMHO RO is great art because 95 % hate it, and the remaining 5 % thinks its the best game ever made.

"But it turns out realistic doesn't always equal fun, for example the game features NO CROSSHAIR(TEH NOES!), you have to aim using the actual sights on your gun!!!OMGWTFBBQ!!!1!!!!one!!AAAARGH!"

God that has to be the funniest thing ive ever seen that still manages to be offensive.

**** retentive huh, mebbe some other ppl ought to pull their heads out of their ***. Cause you gotta love a source which rates Mario Party 8 higher than Red Orchestra...

The average IQ of todays gamer really shows in these people.

When I never played RO that was the only studder I ever had from buying the game. Now I'm glad I never listened to that review.

Meh, xplay is more of a comedy. One run in this game isn't going to show much.

Hmm wonder if it isn't just some kind of sarcasm as there really are to many clichés about the average fps player hidden in that review .
But anyways I'm quiet happy if people who listen to them don't buy RO.

What do you want? They showed almost all of the positive aspects of RO. Ok, they said they don't like it but who gives a crap about a woman's opinion, anyway? [/sarcastic sexist mode]

Oh, and she has a "Butter Face". Everything looks good, "but her" face.

LOL! But in all honesty thats the one they posted on the web the VTshow part of it was much more insaulting. IE they bashed everything about the game. The only thing they showed was SP. IE it was all bots, and no online play. The whined about the reload times and the weapon recoil. They also said the lack of X hairs was totaly unacceptable. IE they got the game thinking ok another run of the mill crapy WW2 game. Thats the review they gave it too.

We had some fans wright some nasty letters to them and yet agian they slamed our fan baise by claiming only 2 people ever played the game. We showed them up by becomeing a number one seller in 1 year. From a therd party company thats a huge deal. I mean all the other reviews even the ones on IGN say ROOST is a great online game but that the SP is the only let down. Wtich admitedly is true. If only it had a realistic story driven SP mode and COD like events that happened in it I would think even Xplay would have gave it a much better review.
