Default weird cracking sounds

when I play RO with my EAX 3d audio, it makes mad crackign sounds when I run and it messes up when people talk over the in game voice. I think it could be the sound card, but it only really does that in RO and maybe in Americas Army. Could it be the game, or the sound card?

and is their a number I can call for customer support?

Sounds like your card is having a problem with unreal engine. Make sure you do a clean driver install of the latest drivers for your sound card. Also try the various audio settins in RO itself (including safe mode).

What sound card are you using ?
Latest driver ?
Latest OpenAL build ?

I have Audigy2 Value, no bacon burning and VOIP works.

So you should have the driver that was released in October of last year, if I'm not mistaken.
Also the OpenAL build that was released just a few days ago, the 12th I believe.

As a rule these things do help.

I believe its the library used by Creative/MS.
Takes into consideration EAX for SB Audigy2 and later cards.

It has taken the place of DirectSound in DirectX.

You should also check that you have the latest DirectX
All these things work hand in hand, so to speak.

Thats what my internets told me anyhow.
Correct me if I'm wrong !

Always grab the latest versions online, not the driver cd that comes with the product.

make sure that if you got all nice new drivers that you check "use system driver" in the configurations menu

Well, I did my best to explain about five posts before.

Just Google OpenAL, it will take you to Creative.
Download the latest version that was released a few days ago and install it on your computer.
Its a very small file and takes about 5 seconds to install itself !

Or you could wait until someone gives a second opinion !
The only thing I'm not sure of is, if an Audigy (1) will benefit.

Thanks.
