Default Your perfect WWII game?

Since a lot of people here probably have an interest in WWII or the games it has given rise to I was wondering what battle or front people would love to see in a WWII game...?

Personally I'd love to see a Battle of Berlin first person game where you play on the German side since there isn't any FPS games that I know that let you experience the German side of things.
In each level you'd play as different people, a soldier, a member of the Volkssturm, a member of the Hitler youth an SS soldier and so on, and if you didn't fall back (assuming the level allowed you to) when you would inevitably die or get overrun you'd go straight to the next level and continue the game as the next character.
The levels would all be historically accurate places where the German defenders fought like Seelow Heights, Tiergarten Park and in the Reichstag itself. Obviously the game would end in overall defeat but to complete the game would be to survive until the final 'area' in each level or to hold off the Russians for a certain amount of time depending on what the objective of the level was.

I just think with all this next gen technology in AI and graphics an idea like this could be made into the most realistic and intense WWII game to date.

You could try Sniper Elite.
It's in Berlin, youre an american but disguised as a german to stop the soviets from getting Germany's plans for an atom bomb, so basically if you take away the story behind it your just a german defending Berlin.

Those robot voices might throw off the atmosphere a bit "Enemy, AT 10 o CLock!" "Move TO 424, DAMN 5 is DowN!" OFP had a ww2 mod in the works but I never tried it because it never came out to my knowledge.

One idea I think would be cool is to have "persistent levels". For example you could play as a Polish partisan fighter in the Warsaw uprising and fend off German attacks while having the ability to roam throughout the city and link up with partisans. There would be complete day & night cycles and fighting could take place at any time of the day or night.

You'd also need to obtain food & homade medical attention if you are wounded. In the fighting lulls you could converse with fellow citizens about whatever and possibly be able to formulate plans and direct people to specific locations to defend etc. You could also arm civilians you come across if they want to join the fight etc. Basically like a full simulator.

I'd love to see a comical, possibly cell-shaded satirical firt person shooter game about ww2.
Something like Nolf but about ww2 and with comic people ala Metal Slug. Don't care about graphics and realism, but it has to be fun.

World War II: Online, but with the Red Orchestra engine. Man, that would be something.

The concept of WWII online is so good, but the graphics are a real turndown for me. I'm not a graphics nerd, but everything in WWII Online feels so slow and sluggish. Unfortunately.

Combine IL2, SH3, OFP, WW2ol, and Red Orchestra.

That would be the perfect WWII game.

I think if the 1944 D-Day guys made a Battle of Berlin expansion pack, it would fit your idea perfectly Trendkill, and I tossed the idea around a bit and wanted to put it in their Add-Ons thread but realized someone had already said it and the last post was months ago, soooo...

But really, you could create a Normandy sized map for the scope of the Battle of Berlin, starting with the Battle for Seelöwe Heights and encompassing the whole scope of the battle from April 16th to May 2nd, provided that it plays out historically and a person in a generalship position playing on the Axis doesn't make alternative tactical decisions which deviate from history. The only thing that would significantly slow down the production of this map is actually constructing Berlin. Even my map, which focuses on a comparitively small portion of the city has taken months; to do the entire city might take years.

A BiA with a speech recognition which will let bark orders to your bots through the mic.
Maybe not the perfect wwII game but it sure will be cool.

If RO could implement a certain feature it would be it for me. I don't know the proper name of this feature but it goes something like this. you have lets say 5 maps that are really one big map. you start at one end and depending on the outcome the map either progress or regress to the next section. Make the map simulate the battlefields and advances authentically and your done.

Honestly the Unreal engine could never handle a concept like WWII online, it can barely handle the RO concept.

Heavily adapted it should.

If they could have the very same distance-dependant level-of-detail system used for vehicle and playermodels on static meshes...

UE 3 could probably handle the scope of WWII Online. Dynamic terrain tesselation ftw :d
