Why would you even compare the two? Why not any of the video games that people have thrown millions of dollars at? Putting them side by side like that suggests they are opposites and can't both be supported. That guy is a victim of a faulty judicial system, not feminism, and certainly not someone trying to put some light on sexism in games.

This kind of misdirected anti-feminism on the internet/gaming world is probably one of the reasons people donated. I, for one, am sick of it.
Very much agreed.

I have no problem with people making "go make me a sandwich" jokes, but if an image like that is posted, and people feel like it's a legitimate argument against feminism (there are other, much more viable ones), then it makes me feel a bit ashamed about associating myself with the gaming community and proudly calling myself a gamer.

How about a muscle or two? She is a violent badass, yet still she has arms and a waist of a ten year old. The only emphasized("hyped up") parts of her body are her boobs and ***.

Yea but that doesn't appeal to boys.

And seriously, if the "most powerful female character in video game history" is designed and portrayed like this:

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...ated-w-008.jpg
http://otherscribbles.com/wp-content...Lara_Croft.jpg

something is seriously wrong.
First of all, there's more to a woman than her appearance. The fact that you've actually taken that stance as part of your argument makes me wonder how you're arguing against sexist attitudes whilst utilizing a very sexist stance in your argument itself.

Second of all, I don't think someone who is doing athletic things is going to want to wear a turtleneck and some 80's flared jeans. Is it a bit revealing? Sure. Is it practical, sporty wear akin to the types of clothes women would use for sporting events, olympics, and the like? Without a doubt.

And finally none of that has any impact on the fact she's a successful, educated, and powerful individual.

There is more than appearance to everyone. Does that excuse the fact that most female characters are portrayed that way? And don't do that. That's like calling people racist for realizing Obama is the first black president in the US.

The clothing isn't really the biggest point here, but still, cut off tank top and hotpants, the most practical clothes in caves, jungles and tombs filled with undead and whatnot?

And obviously that wasn't enough. They had to give her E-cups.

Not even close to a proper and valid analogy, and you damn well know it. Don't waste my time being moronic for the sake of being moronic.

Clothes that offer nothing to get caught on while climbing, in traps, or grabbed by enemies, while maintaining functionality of movement and offering no restrictions? What would you possibly suggest that would be better for what she does?

And obviously that wasn't enough. They had to give her E-cups.

Women have tits. Some of them are even different size. Some people have differing tastes of what they find attractive. The sky is ****ing blue. More at eleven.
Welp.

Thank you for pointing out that women have breasts of different shapes and sizes. Care to comment on the actual point?

And if clothes are so damn impractical, why does indiana jones wear a jacket and jeans? And why isn't the uncharted guy only wearing speedos? There is clearly a double standard.

Indiana Jones isn't exactly doing a great deal of platforming now, is he? Indiana Jones is more the kind of person that gets the information that he wants and executes his plans by strategy, infiltration, etc. Comparing the two is absolutely silly. They may have a similar goal in mind, but the way they achieve the two are completely different.

You also make it sound like men aren't sexualized in any form of media ever, either. I'm sure 300 wasn't considered the biggest female aphrodisiac turned film in the history of mankind.

Aw man now you are just missing the point on purpose. So take out climbing, that leaves every other reason you mentioned; "...in traps, or grabbed by enemies, while maintaining functionality of movement and offering no restrictions?" Also completely ignored the uncharted guy.

She is going to research video games, not movies.

The masta is right though, so I'll just stop here. Feel free to PM.

@Lightsaber lol

I wanted to write something like this but couldn't be bothered. Thanks!
