Default Street Team

Was thinking about this a little tonight. I use to be a street team member for a band... they sent me little flyers that I would take to the music stores in my area. I'd ask the managers if it was cool if I posted some on the doors and windows, and most of the time it wasn't a problem, they were more than happy to let me do so.

So, I propose a RO Street Team. Maybe the Devs or anyone for that matter who is good in photoshop or whatever, could put together an 8X10 mini-poster/flyer for the game. Instead of the Devs sending us these flyers, maybe just have a link to the photoshop image that we as the dedicated RO community could just download and print on our own printers. We could then go to our local video game stores and ask if they could display them.

What are everyone's thoughts on this? Would you guys take the time to print out a handful and take around your town to have them hung in a few stores?

I think this is a good idea, however if the devs dig this then they should send out the flyers instead of having people print them. Some people may not have access to a good quality printer. If people saw an ad for RO printed on crappy paper, then it may lead them to believe that RO isn't professional or something.

But then this would require the devs to spend some money, and there's also the issue of how can you trust the people you are sending these flyers to? The devs have no way of knowing their money was well spent.

Well we all can do our part to use word of mouth getting the message out. Since its retail now, the game will be getting A LOT more press coverage anyway, I've got to believe

The mod is a good way to spread the word.

A mod is much better than massive commercial actions.

Maybe Tripwire can hire some streetworkers which show the flyers to junkies: "why drink and drive when you can play and fly"
