They were running at them with machetes tho (according to the video description, quality is too bad to see it on the video).

I guess they could have used rubber bullets, water cannons and gas, but for whatever reason chose not to do so.

PS! I don't think that video was graphic at all. The quality was so bad that you couldn't really see anything.
