Using Stielhandgranates as "booby traps" was interesting.

Ingenious thing to remove time fuse. Very nasty trick!

If someone tried to use them agains their previous owners, nasty surprise!

Very intresting film. I'm gussing it was a training film for US troops.
The recoil on the MG42 is insane, especially as it's on a tripod!!!
I imagine that a tripod is usually sandbagged into place, to stop it rising up on the back legs like that.

Would anyone with experience of firing MGs from tripods care to comment?

I haven't fired an MG-42 on tripod, but I have fired a friends semi automatic 1919 belt-fed converted to 8mm Mauser, same caliber that the MG-42 on an anti aircraft tripod. Recoil wasn't bad at all, but I woudn't imagine that it'd be so horrible as when you fire a gun, the impact goes into your shoulder rather than the super dramaic climb up that most games depict unless you're not properly holding the rifle/machine gun.
