Default decolayer and skybox questions

Hi. I have two questions.

First, I successfully painted on deco trees on my terrain. However, the trees can be driven right through and stop nothing. How can I fix this? Is this what the term "collision" applies to?

Second, if you have a large map, do you need a larger sky box? For instance, if you have a cube 110,000 by 110,000 by 15,000, would you calculate the size of the skybox based on these UU's?

Thank you for any assistance. Sincerely, Joe.

Decolayers Have NO collision, So it's not a good idea to have trees and stuff that wuold normally Obstruct players as Decolayers.

Trees that are in the distance and not in play are ok, but inside the game area is not good, You could try adding a blocking volume around each deco tree, But that would be a lot of work if you had a lot of them.

Skybox I have never had to makea skybox bigger, to fit a map, I am sure it sizes to correspond with your map area.

Your map will always fit inside the skybox if it's set up as it should be.

And always make the main world cube a CUBE. It caused me helluva lot BSP errors when it was a tad too flat.

I'm unclear. Do you mean that the heighth should also equal the width and breadth?

I'm not familiar with "english geometry" but I do think that cube is a well uh... cube that has equal height, widht and breadht. So yea, that's what I mean.
