Default New Soviet Poster Scans

In case any of you are getting tired of the routine posters that you find on maps here are some I bought the other day and scanned in. The posters are big so it will take me a while to get them into the scanner and stitched properly.

Here are the first two - the Lenin one is pre-war (I think) with Stalin quotes on it and the other is the kind of thing you would find in factory towns during the war.

More to follow when I get them scanned - including a really nice PTRD one

I saw a propaganda poster torrent the other day. I didn't get it so I can't speak to the contents, selection and quality, but I thought I'd mention it here.

I don't usually use torrents but it may be worth investigation.

2 more - a 1943 PTRD poster ("When a tank-hunter stands in the path, fascist tanks will not pass" ) and one from 1941 about Samed and Semyon and their romantic pact to fight to the death.

...or something.

I like the first one very much. All the people carrying same red flag in unity.

Samed went to death so that Semyon wouldn't get killed,
Semyon himself gives life to Samed
Their password, "Motherland", their slogan, "Victory"

Here is an advert for a papirosi manufacturer in the Crimea (not sure of the date) and also a wartime one saying, "The German tank will not pass here."

Samed is facing death so that Semion wouldn't be killed
Semion is sacrifising his life for Samed's life...
Their password is "Motherland" and their slogan is "Victory"!

It makes sense and sounds good in Russian, but not in any other language (when I'm the translator )

Ooops, sorry, Mahno, I haven't seen your post when I was writing this..

Here are a couple more. The first is about fulfilment of the five-year plan and looks to be early- to mid-thirties, certainly from a time when photo-montages were a bit 'hit-and-miss' to say the least . The second is presumably from about the time of the general conscription at the end of 1941 as it features quite a few old gimmers. It says, "Our task is righteous, victory will go to us" (or you could read it as, "Our cause is just...")

That site has a nice collection. Some of the translations are quite entertaining: Stalin cares at the Kremlin about everybody

I combined two torrents into one .zip.

http://boogerhead.dyndns.org:8383/propaganda/

150mb file, don't know what download speed you'll get. The package was apparently assembled by maybe a Spanish speaker; pictures aren't high-resolution scans, but they'd probably be great for in-game.

Download within the next week or so, please.

LOL - this is for sure going into my map, which has a messhall taken over by the Romanians.
