Default Vietcong 2-yor opinions?

Just bought Vietcong 2 for £2.99 brand new, just played it and i can see why it was going for so cheap!!

The game is utterly crap, the graphics are hardly any diiferent to vietcong's graphics, the game play is awful, and the levels are very boring...

So whats your view on it?

It stole Deus Ex 2's crown for "worst sequel".

Loved VC and disappointed with VC2 because-
Cock up with cd key in use stunted its early online growth.
Servers cannot limit classes with explosive weapons like LAW, so rocket-monkeys ruined servers in early days.
Where are the bayonettes?!?!?!?
Why are top weapons missing!?!?!?!? Garand, M1 carbine, Tokarev
Cannot download maps when entering games- and 'map search' in game menu doesn't work, hard to find maps online.
Promised online player ranking and promotion system was never supported.
Stupid 'cheat' kicks because of 3rd party fist bravo add-on (at least some ppl tried to breathe life into this dead duck)
Few players, obviously.
One player was dire- i wouldn't care but with screwed multi i cant even fall back on this.

Pterodon seem to have given up on it already, yet wont update the anticheat for VC1 so BOTH games are now ruined. Go back to supporting VC1 please if the players are back there - if you feel guilty cos they all bought VC2
Shame cos VC1 was the best RL shooter before RO IMO
Fortunately, RO more than satified what Vietcong2 failed to deliver for me, but i still wish for a nam based fps of similar quality.
Has anyone else tried it who like me believes it is potentially good but for silly problems i've mentioned?

I was expecting a lot from it.

I was disappointed, though the multiplayer was somewhat enjoyable.

It's utter s**t.

How they destroyed a series with such potential I do not know. Nothing will ever come close to my love for VC1 (on the right multiplayer maps, not Countersrikey NVA base or Halong Port ....yuck)

Someone once ported the POW-map from the original VC sp-campaign to mp...so it was a mp-night map.
Maybe some remember...it was the mission were you had to sneak around a camp at night, and free a POW who was locked in a wooden cage near the fireplace.

It was the coolest VC1-mp I have ever played, especially with only snipers, grenades, and knives...pure stealth.

Good thing I never bought the expansion, or the sequel.

The expansion was great, it added bayonets and stuff.

Only Vietcong 2 ****ed. But you gotta get Fist Alpha aswell, it explains how it all began before Hawkins entered the SF.

On single player that was a nightmare, i think it had a bug where the POW would always get shot you would have to start level again.

I fell in love with VC1 the first time I played the radio relay map. On Nam mode has so many frantic fire fights trying to to hold off the VC with a nade launcher and .38 heh

Never tried VC2 but after all these posts doubt I will

Get the expansion! It's really fun and interesting, it gives you the backstory of the man you replaced in Vietcong (the guy you talk about in the opening scene).

The bug that frequently occurred for me was the prisoner wouldn't follow me, or some team mate would get stuck somewhere and I could not find him. Everyone would get on the chopper and I'd wait and wait and wait and I look around the inside and...WHERE THE **** IS HORNSTER?

That POW-map was made into a CTF-version for mp.
I played many duels on that night-map, it was freaking awesome...the jungle all silent apart from insects, moon-shadows on the jungle-floor...and every now and then you thought you heard very quiet footsteps.
There were moments my opponent and I weren't more than 10m apart from each other, lying motionlessly on the ground, and waiting for the other to 1st make a mistake.
I think we could use boobytraps too.

I remember I always made sure to kill the enemy before I took their flag.
The flag was carried on your back, and didn't exactly help in the camo-department LOL.

Nope, not going to get the expansion...the VC-times are definately over for me.
I mostly played mp...never finished the campaign.

I enjoyed multiplayer on it even though the weapons are totally scewed up and unrealistic.

COOP Multiplayer is still a blast against AIs but nobody plays it online anymore.

Support for this game was also DOA and like many here, I believe the original VC1 was better.
