Default Any of you ever play Red Baron 3d?

The game still has an active (though smallish) community.

I installed the game two days ago for the first time in 7 or so years and have been having a great time.

The game is classified as "abandonware" now (the studio that created it doesnt exist). You can find the game here:

http://www.wings-of-valor.net/

Along with setup instructions to make the game run on modern machines (and look good too). That site also has links to things like a glide rendering emulator and the patches you need.

The game looks dated, but IMHO its more fun than IL2. The community is very nice and helpful.

Say hello if you decide to play, my in game name is "AeroEngie".

ps- here are some screenshots to prove people still play:

^^Landed that one

Ha, I still have my Red Baron 3d box and CD. Ive never tried multiplayer though (I didnt have an internet at the time).

Always hated the spad 13's in that game though, good manuevaribility, but horrid climb rate.

I guess it wouldnt hurt to throw it back onto the HD.

In most of my flight games my nick is something around "The Red Baron" (I actually started using that nick for flight simulators because of this game)

Considering the game is nearly ten years old, it looks great.

I think I had that, too, though it might have been 3D.

Don't you take on a Zepplin in one of the missions? And shoot down spotter baloons in another?

I remember you could choose between loading AP or incindary rounds...
