I'm not sure if this wasnt posted before but here it goes.
Sometimes when you rest you gun i.e. on a window its to high (the window) and you see only a small part of the ground you would like to cover. But then again you cant stand up because you wouldnt have anything to rest you MG on. Now heres the trick: just hit the stand up button right after you right click to rest you mg VOILA You're more exposed but then again you see a LOT more |

I'll have to try this ...
Sometimes you can look up or down and still get the option to rest. I think once or twice I was crouching, actually hit forward to walk into the wall more, and could forward-and-right click simultaneoushly to get the rest position. |

you can do this twice before you get bumped out of resting. Also good for doing a little trick that practicaly eliminates recoil.

'Scuse me, but what is the 'stand up' button? I can't find any action in the options titled 'stand up' or anything like it.
Is it the crouch button? Is it the crouch toggle button? Is it the go-prone button? Is it the 'look up' button? I'd like to know so I can use the MG more efficiently

If I recall correctly crouching isnīt toggled so as soon as you release the crouch button you stand up. If you are prone, press prone again to stand up.

There are actually two crouch actions. One is titled 'crouch' and I assume it's hold-to-crouch-release-to-stand-up and the other is titled 'toggle crouch' and works as a toggle. Click once to crouch, click again to 'uncrouch'.
But ok, the crouch button it is!

I don't often use the MG but I found a similar trick with the Russian MG. Sometimes if something is too high to rest on just go into IS anyway. Your body raises slightly and you then may be able to deploy on what you wanted.
