Default a bit of background knowledge

i have been aware of this website for sometime....it features all sorts of information from interviews with veterens, film footage, photos, detailed analysis of engagements of units etc etc etc (most of the boxes that flash up are interactive and is where most of the information is displayed)

many people play the game without much background knowledge of the eastern front (althoug a lot of people are interested) and i guess what i am saying is this....

if you know absolutly everything or absolutly nothing about the eastern front.....this presentation helps us all a little bit to understand the insane sacrifice and slaughter of over 40 MILLION men, women and children in one one of the bloodiest conflicts our world has ever seen,

i encourage everybody to watch the presentation...just click on the start presentation button on the picture to the right.....there is also an interactive timeline on the top to use for quick referance to certain dates

here is the link to the website:
http://english.pobediteli.ru/

please post back and give your views of the presentation

It is an interesting site. A lot of info is contained within. Although it does focus on the Russian side of the conflict too much for my liking (but it is a Russian website, so what did I expect?).

I don't think it will hold the attention of the casual browser for very long though. A lack of audio and not much video will see to that. People don't like to read too much these days.

This has been a Sticky Thread in the History Forum for quite some time now. You guys should spend more time down there.

I find this site to be a great resource as a mapper because it gives you a good feel for which battles took place and where. If I ever need a scenario or place to start from this site gives it to me.

Excellent! How long was it? An hour? Lots of info cramed into it. Interactive buttons take you deeper. I just wish the audio was translated-I'd really like to know what the "witnesses" are saying.
