I'm pretty sure that you can select the brush in 3D view but you need to be in wireframe mode. Also, you can select the brush in top/side/front mode and then switch to 3D mode to move or manipulate the brush. Don't forget to re-build geometry after moving the brush to update its location.

Whats the best way to test map in the game? I noticed that you cannot easily set up a server in RO2. So do I need to make dedicated server and test the map from there?

The best way is to set up a home server. You should follow the instructions in the wiki. Then you should see your server on your lan. In the server bat file, you should put your map name like open te-xxxxx

Ok, I just bought a new graphics card and another 8GB ram (total 16GB) and the sdk still won't open stock maps. It doesn't even use anywhere near the 16GB ram you say it requires. It has to be something bugged right? Or do Tripwire have 32GB ram in their level design PCs?

steamapps/common/red orchestra 2/rogame/cookedpc/maps then select the map I want. Correct?

Man I never had problems opening stock maps not even when I was on only 4 gig. What do you try to open, I also never had problems with the serverbrowser.
I have all these thumbs. Or your system is bugged or you doing something terribly wrong. Or you just have bad luck.

lol that goes against what other people are saying in this thread!

I have steam and all steam games installed on a separate hard drive than my windows is on. Would this cause a problem?

the error name is BEX64
Sometimes it just says 'appcrash'.
I found this thread but it hasn't solved the problem for me: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.co...ad.php?t=85191

Well I had my share of other worries. So I guess that make it somewhat equal.

How would I go about opening 2 editors at once in Steam?

Also, I'm trying to create some nice buildings and after finally being able to see how tripwire built theirs using the BSP brush, would it be possible to copy and paste their work into my custom map? Blocking volumes and all.

How do go about choosing what types of uniforms teams wear? I've looked throughout worldinfo and the only choice in unit skin are for tanks, green or white. Is the infantry option elsewhere?

In world info you can set the temperature, which decides the uniform type

Yeah it was because I had saved some external packages, it screwed up my editor. When you save your map sometimes it will will come up with another box which you need to untick or this will happen.
