Hi Tripwire and Fellow Steam Community KF players,
Here's my Killing Floor story... I play Killing Floor on Steam. I've been playing Killing Floor since the start of the Summer Circus Event, around July 6th 2011. I have 176/176 achievements, all perks are level 6, I bought TF2 before it was free. I own The Ball. I will be buying Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad - GOTY - Digital Deluxe Edition during this summer sale. I own all the Steam Killing Floor DLC Character Packs. I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan. I've been pulling for a female in-game character. It would be awesome if Tripwire could make Harchier Spebbington and Ashley Harding available for the post October 2010 Steam KF Community. I'm not saying just give the characters to everyone or for free, but at least give people some options to get their KF to 100% unlocked/completed status. Example: Harchier Spebbington, it would be nice for people who own KF and The Ball on the same account to have some options to unlock him as a character. For instance, take the same route as Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad - GOTY - Digital Deluxe Edition, allow people to buy a The Ball Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade and/or add some achievements to The Ball to unlock him in KF. That way everyone wins, you still promote The Ball as you did in pre-release both to exsisting owners and to potential customers. Giving current owners some more content to re-invigorate gameplay and to promote the game to new players. People who own the game, still spent the money as did those in the pre-release. It just helps people who didn't have a chance to buy it back in 2010 to still be able to get this awesome character. Example 2: Ashley Harding, it would be nice for Steam customers to have an option in getting this character. Perhaps in a KF Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade or Steam Gold Edition. Perhaps Steam DLC Character Pack. Perhaps some Steam Achievements. Anything really would be better than no option. I'm sure our Steam KF Girls would agree too. I play with a few myself. People spend money and time with KF, give us some options to get what we want please. Thanks for your time and listening to me. Please feel free to post +support of you agree with my thread. Hope you look at this Tripwire, you know your Steam Community fan-base would really appreciate things like this. Cheers.

This may sound weird but I hope you get good responce to this thread. I see qutie a few threads like this but this one seems nice. I quite agree with you but I will say it as easy as I can. I will respect TWI for blocking characters as they are exclusive as we had missed the chance to get them but it would be nice if we still could.

TWI said you only got the guy by pre-ordering The Ball. Some people bought it for this reason.
You´re asking TWI to go behind their backs and break a promise? Not gonna happen. |

I don't have the character from The Ball, as the thread's autor I bought KF during Summer Event. I didn't had chance to buy this character. I own the rest of the DLC's except Ash Harding too. In my opinion it's too expensive. Buy everything again and gift someone for free, just to get only the character.

The decision to offer Ash as DLC at a later date was made before Gold Edition was released.

Personally I vote with my wallet. I don't have Harchier Spebbington character, but I'm very much a completest. As such, even though I have some of the older character packs and unlocks, I refuse to buy any newer character packs, including Harold Loft and the RO2 upgrade. It's pretty simple, if Tripwire won't let me have a complete game, I won't let them have my money. Even though I have The Ball now, I'd happily pay extra for the character, it's just if I'm going to pay money I want a complete game, not still have characters locked out.
People also seem to forget The Ball wasn't on mac at release, does it seem fair that I, and others, should have been expect to pay £15 for a game we can't play just for a dlc character? |

I completely agree with what the OP is saying, up to here:
Quote:
But Ashley Harding, their giving to everyone who buy a physical Gold Edition of Killing Floor. Even if you buy all the content again, and it goes to your inventory, it's not like you'd have to gift it to someone for free. I mean Steam did come out with Steam trading for a reason. You can trade your extra copy of Killing Floor and DLCs for a game you don't have. That's what I'm going to do when I get my Gold Edition. [: Just get the Gold Edition. But TWI, if you're reading this thread, could you do something about this for the community? We would appreciate it.

I was under the impression Harchier Spebbington was being looked at?
I remember reading a post here and a dev replied after someone else made a suggestion regarding this character. |

and it ended with everyone reading far to into it, twisting it into something it wasn't.

Personally, I already have Harchier Spebbington from pre-ordering The Ball way back when. I knew that I would like the game, having already enjoyed the UT2K4 mod previously. That said, I think that it would be nice (and neat) to allow newer players the chance to somehow acquire the character for Killing Floor playthroughs. I wouldn't feel "put out" by losing exclusivity to the character.
I wish I could get the two Red Orchestra characters through some sort of alternate route. Though as much as I like Tripwire and want to support them, Red Orchestra just isn't in any way my kind of game.
