This is going to sound odd, but maybe the in-game music needs changing. Too often, it's just quiet, ambient music all round, which gets really, really dull. There are some great pieces in RO2's score that you rarely get to hear, so maybe it might just be a good idea to throw out the whole "morale music" altogether. It was a cool idea, but barely works in practice.
Starting off the round with one of the really ominous, suspenseful pieces, transitioning to some ambient music during the middle, then moving to another more dramatic theme for the end of the round will make things a little less... boring. The music does set the mood, remember, and all too often, its a weird sort of mood music... Thoughts?

I recall a while back there was a thread calling to remove the music entirely, because it was unrealistic.
But personally I think just having a nice volume slider for cap music, and ambient music would be enough. |

I like it, but having played for more than 1 1/2 years I only notice the music if I stop to listen for it.
Mentally for me its faded into the background...

Same goes for the battle chatter. There's a boatload of morale-specific chatter that goes largely unused because the morale system only triggers in very limited scenarios where the game is usually in its last moments anyway. The real problem is the really poor trigger set on the morale stuff. If it were more responsive to more things, and ideally also done per-soldier instead of team wide, it'd do its job a lot better.
That's RO2's problem in a lot of things, though. Good ideas and good work gone to waste for lack of a little consideration about practical use. |

So music doesn't necessary need to be changed. Last edited by ro2player; 03-07-2013 at 09:29 AM. |

I've always felt the music and its triggering was well done. When close to defeat its has the sad sounding music, close to victory, etc.
Also, there is a slider for music, sound, and VOIP in the Audio tab in settings. ![]() Sometimes I do prefer to just turn the music off completely to really get myself immersed. Last edited by Hans in Luck; 03-14-2013 at 01:29 PM. |

The cool music only ever seems to trigger with three minutes left on the clock and 20 reinforcements on one side...

It triggers when attackers got only 1 objective remaining
