You know I am actualy for this game and not against it . You guys should know that every setup is different and every piece of hardware is different on each build of custom built machine hence there is no actual reason for anybody to churp about their specs outloud, atleast thats what I think, its my opinion so sorry hehe. Chance are we are going to play the game on Application Settings anyway.

oh and Okay

not to be a dick, but how do you expect anyone to solve your performance issues if you won't even give the basic specs of your system? We can only deduce so much with just "monster rig."

Seriously how do you expect TWI to better things for you in this situation? Just blindly change things until something works out for you? If you are that much of a privacy nut about these things at least just give us some basic information like processor, graphics card, and sound card - as those tend to be the major sources of problems formost

Really how was that hostile? I was pointing out that its literally impossible to give optimization tips/troubleshooting if he won't give any spec info other than "monster rig."

This is like phoning up a mechanic and asking him how to get better mileage and giving no descriptors of your car other than "its a really good car."

The community -myself included- would be more than glad to help get a fellow player's game up and running well, but at the moment he himself is making that impossible.

It's really old and its the only computer I have and I can't afford a better one because the economy is so poor right now and I can't have a awesome computer like you guys and you guys are making me share that information on the forums and getting me really upset. You guys are a bunch of jerks I hope you're all happy.

Don't worry there most of us had to deal with outdated rigs at one point or another. I remember the first PC I got in 2000, was a p.o.s even for its time and I used it until 2007 when I upgraded to a slightly better Dell PC - which was still inadequate for gamin- till now to a laptop with a GT630 which finally is able to run most current gen games at at least med settings.

Considering the fact that you are using an older rig, you might want to consider getting a new PC, but of course not everyone can splurge on a gaming PC on a whim. You might also consider upgrading your graphics card or processor , which might also be difficult depending on how old your rig is. Consider trying to build your own PC (there are many sites that specifically cater to this) and pick out all the appropriate parts within your price range, this generally ends up being the most cost efficient option as even something like 400 -500$ can go a very long way if you know what you're looking for.

Hey Yurizzle, I'm playing on an old PC too over here so I can probably give some pointers. Firstly, don't aim for ultra if you don't have a brand spanking new PC! The biggest FPS hog (at ultra) is shadows, turn them down to high AT LEAST, this'll bump you up 10-20fps instantly. Secondly, depending on if your GPU or CPU is the bottleneck you'll want to decide between FXAA or MLAA, although if FPS is a concern I'd recommend keeping AA turned off. Likewise, Ambient Occlusion should be kept off as well as Depth Of Field (fps whores that, in my opinion, shouldn't really be on for gameplay, only for screenshots). Another setting you could fiddle with is (I've forgotten what it's called... darn) Detail setting? Map detail? Something like that, it's near the top of the advanced graphics menu. On high or ultra this gives you heaps of little bricks and bits of rubble on the ground on some maps, if your PC isn't the best you may want to take that setting down to medium.

If the problem is simply low fps (no stutter) it sounds like textures aren't in too bad, so you can keep those up. Posting specs is never a bad thing, we don't make fun of people because of their wealth here and I've never received anything but recommendations despite my worse than average rig. Bragging that your rig is better than it is will get you nowhere, because nobody can help you!

EDIT
Oh, and, the whole "different hardware behaves differently" isn't really true anymore, the biggest difference between performance "equal" graphics cards for example is the way they handle Physx (crippled on ATI due to Nvidia, which forces it on to the CPU) and anti-aliasing (ATI is slightly worse, though not by much. And it handles the newer methods such as morphological much better than NVidia).

Well in all honesty , dont say a game is sub par and has performance issues because you have an older system that's going to struggle with it. We've all had older rigs that wont run this game simply due to age, that's just the evolution of gaming and PC's.
But I'm guessing that if you can run it marginally, there may be tweaks that will help you play it ok. Just need to provide the info.

There has been optimisation going on in practically all the patches TWI has made since release, and optimisation is probably as close to as good as it gets. You yourself admit to having a crappy computer and yet you blame your below average fps on lack of optimisation and poor service by TWI. When called out on that you blame "the economy".

Obvious troll is obvious.

optimization has improved, and I was playing on horribad settings before

(people have called my videos "textures from hell"), etc.

Its a shame because Yurizzle was a nice player, and great leader with mic.

Im playing RO2 in my laptop with everything in low, and is great that i can run it. I remember the bad optimization in the old days even playing with a good computer.

I hope you return, theres a lot of new maps made by the community.
