Anybody know of a good site that has a compilation of images I can use as reference for making new buildings as described in the title?

Search for some russian WW2 series movies like "strafbat"
watch them with subs if you dont know russian have fun and draw some soviet villages

Taken about 30 years earlier, but not much had really changed! You may even recognize some of those buildings in RO2...
