Default Just bought the game

hi,
ive just bought the game because according to what ive seen and heard about RO2 its meant to be more realistic and more like arma type of games...

1) Hows the player pop?
2) Any mods available for newer scenarios like vietnam or iraq?
3) Are only germans and russians playable?

Ive really no idea how this game is except for some utube vids...

Heyyy welcome to the wonderful and oily world known as Red Orchestra

Not sure what pop means but I can answer the other two questions

There are no major mods out at the moment for the game. But Vietnam, WW1 and the Pacific Theatre (Rising Storm official expansion) are coming out. But not for a long time. Go to the modding section of the forum if you wish to see progress on that. Or for the Rising Storm progress go onto their sub forum.

At the moment Germans and Russians are the only playable armies.

If by player pop you mean the population it usually jumps around 1000-1200 in the evening in Europe. Bit more on the weekend.

I'm surprised a new player is on the forums. This is really great and I hope more new players join the forum.

Many players who never join the forum tend to spread rumors about no mods or no maps.

yes, i meant population!
Hey btw, apparently it is taking some time before threads are actually visible in the forum after you created them prolly coz moderators wanna check them first, is that correct? So some hours ago ive made this thread but after it wasnt showing up in the thread list I moved on and decided that I must have done something wrong. So now i just made a second thread with the same title and basically the same information in it. I hope thats no problem....

When you are new to the forum, they have to be approved by a moderator. After that you are good. Welcome to the Community!

Welcome, VaLO! I'm willing to help if you have any questions or need any game advice.

There are LOTS of good servers to play on and you can always find full ones. Most of the servers play a rotation of the 11 stock maps with several throwing in some of the community-created custom maps. The RGN Custom map server (my personal favorite) rotates all of the current custom maps exclusively. In addition to all custom content you'll get to play with Mike Nomad which is always fun. He's kind of the Archie Bunker of the Red Orchestra community.

Welcome comrade/towarish

It will be hard for you, but you have hard will - otherwise you would play some of these other games...

...you will find out how it works and dont worry - everybody of us died more than normal on first hours in RO-world.

Good luck, have fun and play hard!

Aye, I appreciate that! 2 bad ive to wait for the copy right now, coz thx to germany with its nanny state attitude i had to order the dvd from the uk. I originally was about to buy the digital deluxe version via steam but then a sec before I pressed the buy button there I thankfully noticed the " low violence" warning so I was forced to go to amazon, lmfao...

I like tripwire's comment about this issue on their website tho!

http://www.heroesofstalingrad.com/faq/germany/

Btw, do I have to install the community created maps manually?

Hello,

I've just bought the game as well. I like it a lot, I like how "hardcore" it is. You really have to think before you act... I usually die a lot (nothing unusual in RO2, I presume), but the game is very fun to play.

That is very much the norm.
