I love RO2 but lately have been getting tiered with the old maps and been wanting to play more custom maps. My only frustration is seeing a server playing one and when I join I have to stare at the screen for 30min while the map downloads. My idea is, for those using steam, there would be a 'subscribe' button beside custom maps within the server browser. Clicking it would subscribe you to the map from the steam workshop so you can go play on a different server while the map downloads.
![]() This would remove those boring waiting times and wouldn't push away players from custom maps. Thoughts? |

Sounds good to me, once they fix workshop they should totally do that next. Be less of a hassle, but honestly I'd rather them focus on making it so that the maps don't need to re-cook with new builds first.

I too shared your frustarations when first attempting to play the Custom Maps. I found the most convenient way to download them is from the
Custom Map Thread on this forum. You can download them and place them iny our map folder on your hard drive. No wait times on Custom Map servers and no messing with the problem ridden workshop.

In addition to which, choose a server that's setup properly with a fast, reliable redirect service. The custom maps on our servers D/L anywhere from 1-3 minutes... there are quite a few servers running quality ReDirect solutions.
