Default Auto-Cancelling terrible arty calls.

Just a suggestion regarding really bad artillery calls that create a tonne of tk's. As it is, if a commander gives a truly terrible artillery call, one that kills a bunch of his own guys, and gets auto kicked, then there is no commander to cancel the call. My idea is that if a commander leaves the game, all calls he has made should be instantly canceled. It can be very annoying to see a bad artillery strike that continues to kill teammates continue to its completion after the commander has been automatically kicked for the bad call.

You should be able to cancel a bad call before the guns start firing.

Agreed. And if you do this, you shouldn't have to experience a cool down period.

I'd also like to see shortened cool down periods if you cancel the artillery before the rounds are complete.

Well ...my unofficial opinion is ... if your first arty salvo kills some guys, and then the next salvos kill more, I kind of like the idea of leaving it running, because if they don't open their eyes to what is happening around them, they all deserve to die, and they should learn to look at the map, listen to the commander (if he warned of arty) and look around them to see what's going on.

Offlicial opinion, yes, let it be cancelled :P

I have had Tks because an SL after marking arty, at the last moment before it came down decided to move it onto our troops ... jeez.

onspiracy? Have you made any enemies on this game?

A Shortened cool down period for cancelled artillery should be good, but only if it is cancelled in the first couple of slavo's. Otherwise you would get people just cancelling the last couple (which always get less kills by far) in order to have arty back as quick as possible.

i'm guessing you mean if you walk away from the radio before they confirm your coordinates. because after they do, there's no need for further communication in the game or real life.
if that's what you meant, yeah, arty should get canceled if you walk away before they confirm your request, but after they do, there's no need to stick by the radio while the shells are flying to keep them going.
right now all we gotta do is make the call and go on our merry way. they still comunicate with us as if we were still at the radio awaiting confirmation.
it's odd.
