Phase 2 “Breakout” – will end at 12:00 noon EST November 30, 2012 (moved from October 15, 2012 to give more time for feedback from Phase 1) with final submissions due at that time. Any maps entered in Phase 1 maps must beresubmitted to be eligible for Phase 2. Phase 2 maps must:
- Be fully compatible with Red Orchestra 2’s current release;
- Have full AI pathing and functionality;
- Implement all standard Red Orchestra 2 gameplay functionality (cover slots, map boundaries, spawn areas, objectives, ammo resupplies, etc) unless the map implements a custom gametype in code (in which case all gameplay functionality must be implemented to support that custom gametype)
- Support at least Territory and Countdown game modes (Firefight is optional) unless the map implements a custom gametype in code
- Be released to the public by the Phase 2 deadline;
- Be set in World War 2.
Judging criteria will include (but not be limited to):
Primary Criteria
- Gameplay and Fun
- Polish
- Performance
- AI Pathing
- Technical stability
- And proper use of RO2 features, including cover placement, spawn locations, etc
Secondary Criteria
- Graphics
- Creativity
- Complexity
THE MAPS
All maps must be comprised of only original content created by the Entrant(s), or content already contained in Red Orchestra 2 and the Red Orchestra 2 SDK or any Tripwire-created content from previous Tripwire Interactive games. That means that no part of the map, including but not limited to, models, entities, audio files, textures or any other content can be taken, derived or ported from any other game or third party map. Any use of previous RO community/mod maps must be by the original owner, or with the express writen permission of the owner. Maps must be playable on the retail version of Red Orchestra 2 and be easy to install and load. Maps must be available for free download on or before the date of their submission to the contest and remain available for download throughout the contest period. All maps must be in compliance with and are governed by the terms of Tripwire Interactive’s Red Orchestra 2 End User License Agreement(“EULA”).
THE SUBMISSION PROCESS
In order to submit your Map, fill out the Entry Form on the Contest site. The submission of this form verifies that you legally represent all of the creators of the Map and that you agree to comply with all the Rules, the Red Orchestra 2 EULA and all decisions of the Contest Judges. You must provide your name, address, date of birth, email address, telephone number and also provide the name, address, date of birth, email address and telephone number of the other contributors to the Map (if any), including the type of asset(s) each contributed. You must also include the URL where Judges and the public can download your Map. The download URL for the map must be directly accessible by the judges without any sort of registration or file queuing. Again, all entries must be the original creations of the Entrants.
The maps must also be available on Workshop. If entrants are having any problems reaching the submission page, they may reach out to me to establish a workaround.
