What will be an ideal team size for competitive play?

Let's say RO2 bursts into the E-sports scene and becomes one of the top new competitive FPS games. What would you consider a good team size for the game?

Counter strike has 5v5, starcraft has 1v1 & Dota games have 5v5. What would RO2 have with all the possible team sizes?

32 v 32 would probably be too large too organize and the tactics/strategy would bleed out into sheer team size.

I think something like 8 v 8 or 16 v 16 would be best for competitive play. The teams would be small enough for high levels of tactical play & strategy while not leaving all the levels entirely barren with 20 minute snoozefests of camping.

I don't think the competitive scene will handle more than 12 v 12. It is pretty hard to consistently even get 8 v 8's going in FPS's these days.

Pretty much this.

What id like to see, is 32 v 32 organised play. At the very least, having some organised clan members unofficially take over a side by being Commander/SL and issuing orders. This might suck for the public, but if a clan runs a server, they could have it set to certain nights they will do things like that, if they have fostered a friendly server, people might be more inclined to stay and pick up tips from a more organised group, or at least enjoy more organised play. So long as they arent jerks about it, and are willing to let others have a go on their off days, not abusing admin powers, and helping those who want to learn, it could make for a fun experience, or it could be a traumatic dramafest.

Perhaps squad vs squad, with a commander on the side would be the best competitive option. Load up all other slots with bots for filler.

We Have two teams of 10 (Elite SFSG and First Team) with 27 more in reserve and 6 Cadets in Training ;)

Yeeehaw, that is a big team. Do you think strategy and tactics could shine with that many players on each team, though? Or would it become a shoot fest.

we played about 7 wars so far in HoS 6vs6. It works out pretty well with countdown.

http://www.roladder.netRoladder.net will have its competition set at a minimum of 6vs6, but as always rules can be changed, and also with the increased number of players and teams for HoS we are sure we can run competitions for everyones taste.

Oh btw. the new site is going to be released tonight, make sure to check it out and register :)
