I do not have the time or energy to try to get this working again, I'd much rather cut my losses and get this refunded so I get a more casual (or at least playable) game instead, but am I able to?

Speak to the person you bought the game from. I'll assume the retailer was Steam.
What do you expect? A mod to PM asking for your paypal to give you your money back? Pfft.

You ask via the support on the place you purchased it, Steam = Steam support, Gamersgate = Gamersgate support etc.
Put in a ticket asking for a refund, explain your issue and see what they say.

Cut your losses? You aren't doing any of the work, the developers are. Is it actually a chore to wait untill the bugs are fixed?
As said above, contact steam or your retailer

I have tried every single solution possible since beta to get it working, and now KF isn't working either and I have tried every solution for that. I am just sick of Tripwire products, and I have exams now so I just need a game that works when I want it to.
But I got my answer, thanks for those who actually answered my question without being total dicks about it.
