The 7,5 cm Stummel equipped Hanomag would actually allow for much more elaborate combined arms operations. The Germans additionally used FlaK wagens (often mounted on SdKfz. 7's and similar prime movers) quite extensively. Firing roughly 300 HE rounds a minute, coupled with at least partial penetration effects, these vehicles would furnish excellent fire support for the German team.

I've always been for the lesser-known AFVs (or hell, FVs). Tanks are important, of course, but they were seriously overshadowed by their lighter counterparts in terms of sheer production.

I don't know. They definitely look like cool vehicles but considering they would have to model the interiors, fully, it would be a lot of work. Also, looking at how from RO 1 to RO 2 they are only bringing back a few tanks out of the many they had before you can see that TWI probably won't give more work to light vehicles that were almost never seen or used, than to a few tanks which is a key selling points of the game.

The germans were notorious for creating wierd little toys like this throughout the war, and some of them actually worked:p. But because this is a game, with real deadlines and timelimits, it doesn't seem to be a very viable inclusion for the release, especially when these vehicles were incredibly rare and getting the realistic specs on them would be far more time consuming than constructing more basic vehicles like the T-34 or the Pz.IV

Maybe an independant modder will take up the cause and do all the research and coding and everything else, but TWI has their hands full making sure the tanks and vehicles that have already been promised come out as polished as humanly possible.

Besides, fully representing the heavy fighting vehicles awesomeness in combat in a game is not an easy task. A 20/30/40mm cannon can't take on a tank, and is pretty useless against infantry, at least in a game due to the low rate of fire.

For the IFVs to be any good, you'd have to be able to punch holes through walls and other cover, which is kind of hard to implement. Otherwise, small caliber cannons would just be slow firing MGs that can knock out tank tracks, not nearly as effective or cool as in real life.
