[Question] Game temporarily freezes at main menu

After the TWI logo, the game moves onto the main menu where I can briefly hear the main theme begin. It then stops and my game freezes for roughly 7 seconds, then unfreezes for another moment before freezing again for another 3 seconds. After this I have no more troubles with this, can once again move my mouse and hear the excellent main theme score.

It is a pretty annoying bug, one that I hope gets squashed quite soon.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Same issue here, although the freezes are short so it's not that annoying for me but it make the game more unpolished than it is. For me, the bug appeared with the punkbuster update during the beta.

During beta i had this bug with roughly the same times as OP, but now its just two freezes around 1 seconds long each.

This bug is indeed annoying but I'd be way more glad to see them fix the ranking system, re-balancing the class system and fixing performance.

on a side note: I hope they make a somewhat low level cap for weapons and classes (to make the stat benefit purely symbolic) or just remove the additional stats gained from leveling.

I think it's something to do with being online - when I start RO2 and just happen to be offline, no freezing at all. When I start it for a multiplayer game (i.e. being online) it freezes for a few moments and then picks back up like the previous posts describe.

After the latest patch i cant play the game at all. the game crash in the main menu,
