What are the factions like compared to CoH1? Is it gimmiky **** like PE/british or closer to American/Wehr?

Did anyone else on these boards play competitively Id love to hear what you think of the game. I drifted in and out of top 10 1v1 Wehr but never won any tournaments. I remember posting a lot of stupid strats on GR.org too lol

Game so far is nice, only thing I dont like is how they change the explosion/smoke/flamethrower etc. aesthetics to the worse imo

So now, CoH 2 will have several different collector's editions, I see. And best is that they are trying to sell different carmouflage skins as an extra? That to me means that CoH 2 will not be (completely) moddable. Pair that with the in my eyes insufficient gameplay of the series and it's a no buy for me. Not even for a discounted price.

I just read that there will be different Collector's editions. Also digital collector's editions. One of the benefits these editions will have is 24 different camos for tanks that are not available to non-collector's editions owners.
Now if the game was moddable, people would simply make skins and so, the benefits of the collector's edition were nullified (why paying if you can get it modded for free?). Counting 1 and 1 together, looks like vehicle skins cannot be modded in the game, which goes in line with the feedback I read from game testers.
Now I haven't read anything about if maps could be modded by the community, but anyways, it's too late, since I am no longer interested in the game.

Generally the maps will be officially added as patches, just like how coh 1 has huge amounts of community maps that were added through the years. They already said no DLC would ever separate the community, no maps as DLC ever. Just useless things such as skins for tanks and single player mini campaigns.

Too late. I'm already boycotting this game and pirating because that's the way it is. Any excuse will do. Like I did with Killing Floors and RO2!

I would rather play Halo Wars than this corporate ****! PC #1 purist here.

I was astonished at your conclusion that unlocking skins for vehicles = game unmoddable. It will be modded, unlocking stuff has nothing to do whether a game can be modded or not. It sounds like you were never interested in the series to begin with judging by your vague dissatisfaction with the gameplay. So why tell us that you're not going to buy the game?

I am pretty sure that modding will be restricted. I was interested in the series. COH 1 was fun for some time because I purchased it early but never really played it in the first 12 months after purchasing it. Then I played with 3 friends quite extensively for some months. However, the gameplay, for me, quickly wore off and the depth of COH was very limited imho.
I had hoped that COH 2 would take a step into the right direction and first and foremost, get the laughable aim distance of tanks right. This has not been the case and all trailers and info I have seen about COH 2 make me feel that the game will stink. First reviews (previews) I have read basically confirm my thoughts.

If you are a fan of the series, good for you. Enjoy the game. If you have a problem with reading my thoughts, ignore my posts. I don't understand why you seem to take my posts personal, really. I am not out for trouble.

if you are playing coh for historical accuracy, then i would not like it either. But i just like a good RTS, and it is a great RTS with great gameplay. It just so happens that it has ww2 skins. It could have NOD vs GDI, or protoss and zerg skins for all i care. a Great RTS is a great RTS.
