Usable mortar on large maps

Mortar strikes were widely used in WW2, so why not in RO? I mean not the commander's mortar option but an actual mortar device that the player can control like the mounted MG. they should be placed somewhere behind the spawn points and be able to reach the shock points on the maps, like the middle park in FllenHeroes. also they should have limited ammo without the option of resupply so players won't spam them the whole round to get random kills.
P.S. i have noticed non usable mortar tubes on Barracks in the Soviet spawn, so maybe the developers already planned to include them?
 
This is a good idea.

Mainly for server load reasons. Replacing light arty on some maps with an in game 50 mm.

The ~50 mm mortar used by both sides is man portable (with a little bit of liberty) and is a platoon level weapon. Max range less than 600 meters.

Not a horrible idea to lock down some man power using the weapon. Historically 3 people, in game 2.
