Hey, i would really like to buy Red Orchestra 2, but unfortunately Steam only offers 1 Version of it - the cut Version (im from Germany). I dont want to import the game or buy an uncut key and pay the full prize, so could someone gift me the game (i got paypal)? Then the game will be uncut for me.

Bah the Europeans always get the short end of the stick when it comes to censorship.Not 100% sure but even if someone gifts it to you you will still get your regions version thru the download.Maybe a hardcopy from the US if its not just a link to steam that is.

Another workaround may be to change your region in steam not sure if this will work or not just an idea.When Ro2 released I couldn't download it the first day being from GA.I switched it to NY and boom instant download so steam can be tricked with the regions.

The gore files may be in the European version but may be turned off in the INI files someone with more confg knowledge with a European copy may be able to say for sure.I hope you find a solution it would sux to be forced to play a watered down version of the game.The game in the US is very gory (compared to other fps's)

Coming from Canada and moving to Australia, I still have all my un-cut games that were censored here in Australia, as I paid for those in Canada, thus that's the version I still get. When I bought Left4Dead 2 here in Australia, I got the stupid censored version and can only play the un-cut version when I tweak with settings that make me play offline... then Steam eventually resets my game to the censored one.

Though the Aus Government finally created the MA+18 rating (or whatever you call it here) thus you should get games normally here now.... I haven't checked with my Left4Dead 2 as I stopped playing it a while back.

RO2 was never censored here luckily.

If you buy the game in a country such as Canada and then gift that purchased copy from Canada to Germany.... you "Should" get the Canadian Version as that's what was paid for. Censored version games generally have a notification on the store page telling you what you're getting before you buy it (it did for Left4Dead 2 when I bought it).... thus if you bought a game without this notification, then them giving you a censored version after it is paid for is a tad corrupt.

i am German too. I know how it looks cut and uncut, the difference is nort worth any work (weil die Grafik einfach so kacke ist und die Effekte nicht sonderlich groß sind oder übermäßig oft auftreten).

I am not sure why I can see all on my account i bought the game in an English key-shop, i have Steam on english and the steamaccount was registered in russia. IP doesnt seem to be checked for this.

Don't confuse Germany with Europe as a whole. Most European countries actually seem to have less censorship than the US in my experience. Though it isn't violence that the US censors. Remember, nudity and sex are entirely more damaging to view than violence... right?

On the Sceptered Isle we get good Steam deals and no censorship. Picked up AoE3 Complete and SimCity 4 for a tenner, and was gifted Skyrim + DLCs, WotR and some random indie titles. Huzzah!

I always thought there is no Cut version at all. Even though steam says it is a cut version I can see dismembered body parts, blood, death moaning etc.

Yes Lord..unfortunately so.... Americans seem to have very big problems with the penis and the vagina. Killing large numbers of people oversees doesnt get much attention, but screw a reporter and now more Americans can probably accurately locate Afghanistan on a map.

It's not a big difference between the cut and uncut version.
I suggest you to buy it, even if it's cut, there will be no changes in gameplay and there is still blood.

What's the difference between the cut and uncut version? There's no swastikas in the game, so Germany didn't censored that. Blood, bodies? But they didn't censored that.....

Essentially you get the game with "Low gore" forced on. You get:

Blood on bullet impact, blood pooling under bodies

You don't get:

Limbs being blown off leaving bloody stumps
