So it often happens to me that I'll be whittling away at a tank, get some good solid hits that show visible damage, but then somebody else comes along and delivers the final blow, yet I am rewarded none for softening up the target.
If I can register the slightest amount of measurable damage to an enemy soldier and should that enemy die by the hand of a teammate, I'll get a kill assist, why not apply that to killing tanks too?

I agree! I sometimes pop a few whole mags into a tank with my AT rifle and then the friendly tank comes and blows it in one hit, well, it aint my fault I cant always get the right angle or close enough, I am not sitting in a metal box, but I did help!

This. However awarding assists to SL's that mark art which the commander uses would be good.

Honestly, the entirety of the tank-killing points and stuff needs work I feel. For example, when the player in the tank was getting all the points for his hull-MG's kills, meanwhile, if you get super-lucky and get that perfect nade on it you get one kill, plus two measly points for destroying a vehicle. So yeah, everyone that contributed should get points for those who need gratification (including me sometimes). And by contributed I mean at the very least if you damaged/killed one part/crew member.

I think vehicle kills should be worth more like 10 team points and/or a kill point for each crewmember, including the AIs.

I've posted about this in another thread, but supplying an MG'er nets you +5 team points. Killing a tank which may or may not be decimating your team nets you +2.
There's a serious disparity there. Yes, it can be evened out by shooting the tank inside a capzone FROM the capzone, but even so, it's not a lot. I really do think that you manage actually damage the tank, you should get +1 points for vehicle damage per subsystem damaged and at least a straight +5 (or +10) for the vehicle kill. I'd understand the +2 for the vehicle kill if we were killing half tracks or trucks, but not tanks. |

I know it's not an excuse for this unbalancing of the points system, but does it really irk everyone that much that a little number on a separate menu is lower than some other numbers on the same menu?
Personally, I'm much more interesting in throwing RPG-40 grenades at tanks and blowing them up than seeing a number go from 32 to 42. |

Frankly, no, it doesn't irk me that much. As I say this I still reckon this is low priority, but since we have the point system already it may aswell be balanced out when someone has the time. |
