Well not quite 101 but a few that i hope can be answered.

1. Will ROO server be availiable before the main release so us admins can configure servers for release night?

2. Do we still use webadmin or is there a different system?

3. Can we get a list of ingame commands that work (unless theyre the same as stock ut2k4)? or a section of the website that has admin tips like unrealadmin.org?

4. Do you know which hosting companys will be hosting ROO servers?

5. What port will ROO use?

6. Will we still use compression for custom maps etc?

7. What, if any, anticheat is availiable to keep the scum at bay?

Any answers will be appreciated where they can be answered.
If i think of any more (or any other admins) ill add them below.

You already have a list of UT server commands and settings, there will be some changes but they will be released when the time is right. It's like the standard Hl2 server commands etc. work for CS:S and DoD:S but there are some specific ones for DoD and CS:S only.

If you are familiar with RO admin commands then you won't have any issues changing over when the time comes

The server release will of course be available prior to the client release.

2. Do we still use webadmin or is there a different system?
You still use web admin, although it looks slightly different than the UT2k4 one the functionality is the same.

3. Can we get a list of ingame commands that work (unless theyre the same as stock ut2k4)? or a section of the website that has admin tips like unrealadmin.org?

All standard UT2k4 admin commands should work. There will be several additional settings and commands, and these will be provided to server admins before the release of the server software.

4. Do you know which hosting companys will be hosting ROO servers?
Clanservers.com should be hosting RO servers. Not sure about which other ones will.

5. What port will ROO use?
Good question. Right now it uses the same ports as UT2k4, but that might or might not cause issues. We'll have to look into that.

6. Will we still use compression for custom maps etc?
Sure.

7. What, if any, anticheat is availiable to keep the scum at bay?
Any server side anti cheat mutators you use for UT2k4/RO should work in Ostfront( although they might need some minor modification). We're currently looking at different options for handling anti-cheat on a broad scale. We'll let you know when we have further information.

In regards to how "difficult" the server will be to set up, from an installation standpoint it will be as easy as installing a CS or DOD server as it will use the HLDS update tool. As far as configuration is concerned, it won't be any easier or harder than a standard UT2k4 server to configure.

the only issues with linux afaik are in terms of running the steam client software. valve happily lets server admins run their games of linux, and the unreal engine can run happily on linux servers to. So i'd GUESS that it would be a yes, notice the emphasis on the guess, that is because I really am not certain either way.
