Default Next Game Suggestion for TWI

3 simple words. Battle of Berlin. Plenty of the needed assets are already produced, you just need to update some weapons and add new maps. Mix of maps from the countryside approach and the Vistula–Oder Offensive right up to the Reichstag and the battle for the city centre. Would be great.

Doesnt matter where it is.As long as it's maps are designed for combined arms(Not just tanks, apc's too),1 game mode,no perks and no anachronism.

Quite sure there was no actual battle at the Reichstag.

I think I said this like a year ago but for the next offical content for RO2 from Tripwire I would really like to see something like a big counter offiensive Patch/Addon/DLC.

Would be nice to see maps that focus on all the battles when the russian army pushed the german army back. We could have awesome maps based around on the battles at the Seelow Heights etc.

I know there's a mod in the works, but I'd surely like to see a Red Orchestra-styled game set during the Cold War. Afghanistan, Vietnam, those wars carry the same amount of "terror" and brutality as WWII, while using some more "modern" weaponry.

The Korean War would have been the easiest "Cold War Era" sequel they could make, because they could import the Soviet/American weapons and American uniforms wholesale into such a hypothetical expansion pack. Check one of my older threads for more details on this, in case you're interested.

Vietnam is already being done by more than one mod team now, right?

Yes, I've read it. It's still using the WW2 weaponry, so it's really nothing new.

I don't know, I'm sure it wasn't done enough, especially in a RO-like game. And Afghanistan during Cold War? I don't think I saw that ever.

I would love to see a battle of kursk. But being realistic, I would be happy to see the U.S. vs Germans, or the British vs the Germans / Japanese.

Game Suggestion?

All we need for it is a new Map, called "Berlin" "Der Untergang"... and G-43, StG-44, Panzerfaust (still in work by modding Team), Panzerschreck, MG-42 and some more Vehicles (but right now we are waiting for more vehicles, too)

So let us make it simple: New Map with more Mkb 42 (like on Koitos-1943)

With Dibbler & Friends "Immersion Overhaul Mutator" we have some good skins for this battle, too (e.g Waffen-SS by Kaminski and Moskeeto incl. in the IOM)

Right now there is nothing special in RO2 that let me think itīs a game make for the battle of Stalingrad, only.... every weapon and skin we have in the vanilla RO2 could be used on every battlefield from 1939-45

We donīt need a new game, for just 2-3 Maps about the battle of Berlin, Kursk, Charkow, Kowel, Demjansk etc.

I agree completely. I was just thinking a dangling a carrot in front of TWI, an option to make a little more cash, quickly too. If there are any modders out there who would like to take on a project like this, that would be great. I am a complete noob when it comes to modding or else I would do it hehe.

By the next day, 30 April, the Soviets had solved their bridging problems and with artillery support at 06:00 they launched an attack on the Reichstag, but because of German entrenchments and support from 12.8 cm guns 2 km (1.2 mi) away on the roof of the Zoo flak tower, in Berlin Zoo, it was not until that evening that the Soviets were able to enter the building. The Reichstag had not been in use since 1933 when it burned and its interior resembled a rubble heap more than a government building. The German troops inside made excellent use of this and lay heavily entrenched.Fierce room-to-room fighting ensued. At that point there was still a large contingent of German soldiers in the basement who launched counter-attacks against the Red Army. Finally, on 2 May the Red Army controlled the building entirely.

And if we'd like to stay on the WW2 fields, I'd suggest "Raid on Monte Casino", which symbolizes all (or rather - most) of the armies fighting it out in one, grand battle. By introducing some new sides to the conflict and mixing them up on maps, you can make every engagement and map different.

Axis: Germany, Italy, Japan
Allies: Russians, Americans, British, Polish
Possible Battles:
German - Russian
Americans - Japanese
Polish - German
Polish - Russian (Soviet Invasion)
British - Italian (African theater)
American - German (France)
Russian - Japanese (Manchuria, end of the Pacific war)

Tons of variety.

Of course there wasn't a battle at the Reichstag. These Red Army soldiers are just pretending to storm the ruined, burning building. The dead German soldiers, artillery cannons, bomb craters and destroyed houses around the building are also just fake.
