Default Steam Auth failing

Quote:
Uninitialized: STEAMAUTH : SteamAPI_Init failed

...

Log: STEAMSTATS: SECURITY CHECK FAILED - /ENGINE.U
Log: STEAMSTATS: SECURITY CHECK FAILED - ../System/Engine.u
Log: STEAMSTATS: SEC... etc

What would be causing this? I think this is a network wide problem for anyone hosted with Hypernia so help would be appreciated by many I'm sure.

Full log:
Spoiler!

They've reinstalled the master files.

Just do a reinstall, should work.

Just reinstall... that's a joke. It's a sub-optimal solution. Updates shouldn't mean reinstall the whole bloody server, it defeats the object of the binary diff system.

EDIT: Reinstalling gives me a Windows install on a Linux server, nice. Might explain why I'm seeing "STEAMSTATS: SECURITY CHECK FAILED" for a heap of the core files on an updated server. TWI please make this suck less.

That's the only option steamcmd has left them with. I dunno why they can't just copy all files except the killingfloor.ini and leave the commandlines intact. But I guess they've had zero time to prepare for this changeover so it's all very temp-fixes atm

Not quite true,

If they host CS:GO servers, they use the same method i believe.

I had one server left which wasn't updated, seems that updating that works, rather than doing a full reinstall.

Not sure about the valve titles but TCAdmin in general doesn't support SteamCMD.

Maybe the other valve/source games still have backwards compatibility with HLDS?

Was there every a fix for this?

I just started up my server and I get this same issue each time. I have reinstalled, updated, deleted steam folder, deleted Steam_appID.txt, re-reinstall and

app_update 215360 validate (I run a linux system)

many many times and still the same thing...

I don't think it effects anything. All of my servers are doing it, yet they all run just fine. Might have something to do with the white list map list going away, since that update seems to be around the time this problem was first reported.

I second that. Same thing, reinstall don't change anything.

I wouldn't exactly run a reinstall most of the time but it works sometimes. But at this point I wouldn't due to the "Failed to install/update app 215360" issue flying around on Linux based systems.

Well the issues I think this is causing is my server has the IsVACSecured as false. I though it was because of the failure of security. What do I set the IsVACSecured to true with...and yes I have the bVACSecured=True under Engine GameInfo. And this is right after I do an update....no custom map stuff.

ok fixed it.... In my startup script I had typo VACSecure=tr ue tr ue does not equal true !
